I actually like how it brings out the worse side of Solas too. That racism was out full force in that conversation. That's why I love watching playthroughs where you're enemies with the characters; it always gives more insight!
Edit: Also, I love that even when he vehemently disagrees with the choice to keep the Templar Order and despite clearly hating the Inquisitor, he approves when the Inquisitor gives a sensible explanation as to why to keep the Templars around. Even here he's not entirely closed-off to the Inquisitor and his choices.
Ahh, both of these are delicious... in a well-written character sorta way. Solas can be very stubborn, can think a little too highly of his own opinion, and yet, he does see things in shades of grey and is willing to hear you out if you're, you know, respectful and actually willing to communicate. He's flawed, but good. Good flawed!
And did he just call humans thugs? LMAO. "I thought I might be wrong buuuut then this dickweed Inquisitor comes along..."
