What if the mark is changing Lavellan as she gets used to the power?

Maybe she'll reach a demigod status that will somehow allow her to be an equal to Solas.

If Morrigan gets the Well she says she's tied to Mythal for eternity. I took that as her life will be extended.  And the orb was the Dread Wolf's power, at least some of it, just that might extend her own life.

So I started my second playthrough today, and I'm pretty much aghast at how Solas just lies through his teeth about just about everything.  For starters, he's apparently never seen Veilfire or Astrariums (Astrarii?) before.  And everything is "I saw this in my travels through the Fade".

There is a time or two in the romance arc where he hesitates before speaking, and with the metaknowledge it's obvious he's converting real experiences to suit the facade. A playthrough where you know what he is is so amazing; there is just so much to pick up on.

I dont know if that would 'fix things'... a longer life doesnt give you access to thousand years of history. It wouldn't necessarly make Lavellan care about restoring things 'like they used tobe' to the same extent as Solas. 

 

I feel that for the 'happy ending' to be possible, the ball is entirely in Solas camp. After all things worked well while he was caring about the present, as it has been shown. They could be happy if he turned his back on that plan of his.

I don't know if you guys have figured this out yet but I was just on tumblr in the Solas tag and someone figured out something absolutely terrible to do with Solas.

Solas's personal quest is called "all new faded for her" at first glance it's a weird phrase that doesn't seem to mean anything until you rearrange the letters a little bit. I hate you Patrick Weekes, you are trash and IhateIhateyouIhateyou.

Just talking power wise,  But the choosing the Well, not sure Quizzy will have a choice what Solas does.

I don't think he would be happy if he turned his back on his plans. Whatever it was that he did weighs heavily on him; and I doubt he could simply turn his back on the issue. He has to deal with it. I honestly don't think he can just ignore his entire history in hopes of a romance with the Inquisitor. If he turned his back on his plan, then the Inquisitor may be happy, because she gets her love, but he wouldn't be happy.

I think it's clear to us that Solas needs to let go of the past. The elves don't have it good, but none of the races are that much better off. I wish he would care about all people instead of just his people.

I think I may pretend my Lav and Solas didn't do it- maybe got close but never went the whole way because it would be too much, literally too intense, for her to handle because he's an ancient and powerful godlike being. Of course she doesn't know that but maybe in moments like that it would be hard to suppress what he is. Lol. I'm making **** up now. Lol.

Pretty much this. For some people the only way to let go of their past is to acknowledge it head on, or even try to make it right no matter how failed they know the attempt will be. People cope differently from the person next to them, and I don't think Solas will ever respect himself or be able to move on until he at the very least gives it all his efforts one last time. Saying someone needs to let go is one thing, but as we all probably know from personal experience it usually isn't that simple. Is it foolish? Oh yes, but the fact that he continues in spite of his logical nature is a rather depressing flaw, at least in my mind - but one I wouldn't change for the sake of his story arc.

There's letting go of the fact that modern elves aren't what ancient elves were, which I think is something he really needs to move past. And there's letting go of apparently betraying your brethren and causing, directly or indirectly, the demise of your people, which I don't think anyone can just let go of.

It just keeps going...why does  he refuse to drink the well and is mad if you do, why his excuse for courtly knowledge seemed made up, why he's only into elves, why he didn't get much marketing, why he never talks about himself, why he's afraid of dying alone, how he knew to seal the rifts, how he recognized the orb..

imo, this is the perfect example of foreshadowing. If someone played through and paid a ton of attention to Solas, then they would probably guess, or at least have a really good idea. And people that only found out when it was spelled out can now go back and catch all the little hints. It's seriously the ideal foreshadowing. I love stories like this, where every time you go back through you find something new that hints toward a revelation.
