But the elf Abalas I think?  Said the sealing away was wrong. So we don't know if they were sealed or what not.

What I took away from the dialogue with Abelas was that Mythal was murdered, and then all the other gods were sealed away.

 

I think I have a save right before that part of the story, so I'm just gonna... go get that dialogue.

Soo... I dunno, really. Morrigan only brings up Mythal and what was said to have happened to her, so the only thing Abelas clarifies is what happened to Mythal specifically.

Just wanted to say that you ladies are awesome and the theories and discussions keep me sane while I'm away from my console. I never intended to romance him but now the feels have me completely trapped.

I think youre right 

I dont think Abelas said there was no emprisonment, just that Mythal was murdered isntead of being emprisonned with the rest. But that might be my memory playing game with all the threads speculations too :S

I watched my recording to make sure. He never said the other gods weren't imprisoned, but he doesn't deny it. He only talks of Mythal's murder. I don't believe he knows about the other gods. I speculate they went into Uthenara as soon as Mythal fell, after closing their doors to the rest of the world.

 

And with the end scene, we do know they were locked away.

 

I want to know why.

I actually haven't gotten the quest completed yet either. Still on my first playthrough because it's a completionist one, but knew I had 100% found all the artifacts in the zones I've cleared out so far.

 

Your maps will help me on the ones I haven't done yet... or help me find any more flaws.

 

I'll keep the artifact-hunting search updated in here as I progress.

Perhaps she helped Solas seal the other gods away? We do know [at least, according to elven legend], that she had intervened to calm the gods down in the past.

Hey Solas fans, just about to embark on my first Lavallan playthrough, and I wanted to ask a spoilery question.

I know that at some point, Solas offers to take off Lavallan's vallaslin(forgive if the spelling is off). but is this a romance-specific thing, or is it for all Lavallans?

This makes a difference for me on whether I play a male/female Lavallan, as well as whether I romance Solas or not in this playthrough. Rest assured, though, I'll be romancing him at some point. His story is just too juicy not to.

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but it's a big thread, and searching 'vallaslin' or 'Lavallan' were unlikely to get me close to an answer, given how often the thread uses those words.

There are stories of how the gods were going insane. Andruil, to be specific, going insane from the contact with the Veil. Mythal tricks her and removes the memory of the Veil's location from her mind and she goes back to "normal",more or less.

 

Falon'din also seemed to be insane, killing those who would not worship him/become his followers. It took the gods bloodying him in his own temple for him to stop his bloodshed.

 

My theory is the gods all attacked Mythal, their "mother" (they would really be the only ones with the ability to kill a god, I think). In an attempt to save the People and the gods, Fen'harel sealed them inside the Eluvian at the end.

 

I'm still, however, working out more pieces and hope to find more as I playthrough again.

So other gods killed Mythal, and then Fen'Harel imprisons them all in the Eluvian? So then the question would be, does Mythal want the other gods freed so she can take revenge upon them? And meanwhile Fen'Harel just wants them free, but is willing to join with Mythal if that's the only way to do it? Except now that by doing that...he'd be freeing them just to kill them....which is hardly undoing his mistake....I'm so confused.

Drank from the well this time because I noticed the ancient elven writing you can discover with Veilfire. I'm not sure if these have been posted before or if I'm missing any, but if you drink from the Well the codex entries that otherwise said the writing is untranslateable change. Doesn't seem like any of these are about Solas in particular, but they do kinda reflect on the stories he tells. I wish I hadn't completed the shards quest now because I can't find what was written on the tablet in the main room in my codex, but maybe it also says something different depending on whether Solas is still with you or you have drunk from the Well.

When I first heard that, what immediately came to mind is that Mythal cheated on Elgar'nan with the Dread Wolf, Elgar'nan killed her, and then the Dread Wolf sealed the rest of them away.

It's possible that Mythal's not trying to kill them? If they were influenced by something beyond them -- like the story of Andruil -- would you say they were to blame? Possibly, they need the others to give Mythal the "reckoning to shake the heavens".

 

Or, perhaps one god in particular betrayed her: Elgar'nan. According to Flemeth: "She was betrayed as I was betrayed." If we take that literally, maybe Mythal's "husband" betrayed her as Flemeth's did.

 

As for Fen'harel, maybe his mistake was thinking things would be better without them in the world. But, if he learned that they were not in charge of their own actions? I'm sure he would have regretted sealing them away instead of trying to help them.

 

I don't believe they're trying to kill them.

Another thing. I think most of us want Solas and Lavellan to be together in the end, but something I tell myself is that if two people truly loved each other a minute is a lifetime (I can't remember where I heard that quote). It's something I remind myself of when I feel down.
