Lol, you messed up. You know what a guarded person he is. He's already limited to elven females. He's not going to stand for any flirting with people other than him.

 

I kissed Solas when I first got to skyhold, and then flirted with Cullen a couple times after that - the first time, I realized he was now taking it seriously, so I stopped. I flirted with him one of time after that

but I was still able to complete the Solas romance, no problem. I also flirt with Dorian every chance I got.

 

All that said - is it just me, or do the flirt dialogs not always come off as flirts? I often times found myself picking those dialogs, not because I wanted to flirt, but because the were the nice/comforting/funny thing that felt most appropriate to me. And a lot of times characters seemed to respond in ways that I didn't really consider flirty, either.

Or maybe I just never noticed it before?   Regardless, it looks to be the same style, and it has the Inquisition symbol. No way it was there before the Inquisition took control of Skyhold.

 

Now I'm imagining Solas sneaking up there to paint something for the Inquisitor to make her room more homey.

 

I'm just catching up and wasn't able to read past this point, but I wanted to reply. The very first thing I did when I got Skyhold and the Quarters were available is go see them, and that painting was there from the moment I walked in the door. There's some other places in Skyhold where there's Elvish painting like that. Blackwall's barn, for one that I can remember off the top of my head.

Also flirting with Blackwall once you enter Skyhold (even though he's quite resistant to a relationship) prevents the Fade kiss with Solas.  Though, I'm not sure what happens if you go back and "dump" Blackwall before that scene.  I went back a save.  I guess Skyhold is the point of no return XD, because she flirted with others before that point.

Dumping him worked. Couldn't figure out a save that wasn't 4+ hours before that point.

What if that's not a choice either of them have? The eluvians are waking up again, Mythal has returned. I think the gods are coming back whether we like it or not, and it's a matter of managing the outcome.

I picked some heart options with Cullen and it didn't cut off. They were early ones, though. Had to ask about templar celibacy, lol.

Why would you want that? Do you have a box of kleenex taking up space better used for Solas figurines you want to use up or something?

I noticed that, and I honestly prefer it this way.  The "flirts" in DA2 were kind of jarring, tbh.

with or without Solas' intervention. He came back, too. Then there are the people who are searching for old gods in order to kill them, and the elves of Orlais and Morrigan stalking eluvians. He may believe he has to manage what's going to naturally happen anyway. People keep saying that there's a change coming to the world, and that sounds to me like something inevitable and not of Solas' doing.

My favored way of starting Solas' romance is to avoid the early flirting and have nerdy conversations, then take the "I enjoyed the conversation" line which is very proper sounding and not coquettish at all. Next thing you know he's moving in with Fade tongue. Ah, nerd love.

Solas is just so darn confusing. I did my first playthrough with Cullen, and I loved it. And before the game came out I wanted to romance Solas and Blackwall, and Sera, and Dorian... And Iron Bull... But now...

Now that I know what happens at the end of Solas's romance, I'm like, "Ugh. Is it worth it? Do I really want to get my heart broken by a digital elf?" Because you should have seen what happened when Alistair dumped my Elven hunter on my first playthrough of Origins. Yikes. My reaction was not good. LOL.

 

And now I know about Blackwall, and I don't want him at all, anymore.

 

And I hear Iron Bull is treated like a joke. Sera is nuts and I can't understand what she's on about. And I still like Dorian, I'm just not sure I'm ready to roll a male character, yet.

 

So please tell me that he's really worth it. I mean you guys have to love him for some reason.

Oh the one hand, Solas shouldn't be jealous because he's a very mature person. On the other hand, he's guarded and it's probably not easy for him to fall in love.

I, too, believe Solas would look even more incredible if he looked more like his concept art. This...makes me want to write Solas with this description soooo bad...if only I wasn't worried that people wouldn't like it.

I also love Dorian's comment about it being awful. Like it pained him to read it. I can just imagine. Inquisition book club! The Inquisitor, Dorian, and Cass sit around reading romance novels. Josie tries to find the Inquisitor, only to join the book club. Varric shows up to tell his stories. The rest of the guys spend the time wondering where everyone is.

It is worth it because it is just that beautiful. There may be tears, but there is a joy to be had for the reason that you cry.
