Spoiler

It was actually strange to not go into the future with Dorian, but Cole was like my guardian angel. XD I like both quests a LOT, they were badass. And eventually the Envy demon won't bother me, but right now...BLAGH. XD

I made a second attempt at re-creating the tarot card version of Lavellan.

Spoiler

I really wish they had hair like the one in the tarot card...

I liked the other attempt I made, but I think I might stick with this one. Can't wait to romance Solas again. XD

Oh my god, she's beautiful. @________@

Do any of you know how different is Solas dialogue and cutscenes with male inquisitors? Is it the same as female non elf inquisitors? If a female elf decides not to romance him how different is his personal quest?

Thanks in advance  :)

Cole was honestly the best thing about that quest line that it really made the mage one so... Depressing to me. Cole was this guardian angel and he was sweet and a wonderful guide.

Then Vivienne told me to kick him out and I refused. I adopted the sweet spirit as my son. :| He stays.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but! I assume that Solas was in a different form when he gave Corypenis the orb? Or else why would Cory not recognize him during their battles? Or?

All lower beings look the same? I'm of the opinion he had the dreads waking up and shaved after Cory (Hehe, I see what you slipped in there, Sera) refused to do his plans?  But he was in Varric's trailer shaved. Or was he?   Or it could be that Cory didn't care to recognize him, his focus was completely on the Quizzy, the orb, and his own plans.

Now I have to go back and do the templar quest!  I've only done the mage one so far...

Yes, I also wondered why Corypheus doesn't recognize Solas. I suppose some possibilities are...

  • Solas did not give him the orb directly (e.g. he arranged it so that Corypheus found it)
  • He changed his form when interacting with Corypheus (though in the first game, Morrigan says she cannot change her human form, right? Can even Solas do that?)
  • He had someone play the middleman (Solas seems like a loner, so I'm not sure who he'd have around to run errands for him, though)

OKay, lost the quote somewhere.  @ "Getting you into bed is an enjoyable side benefit"

Okay, can't find the video, but it's your talk right after Mythal's temple.  Pick the Sassy option.

So, what if the mark can only be transferred through true love's kiss.

*giggles* It's so corny.

Cole was very sweet. When it came to quest NPCs, I actually ended up really liking Ser Barris. He notices things are wrong, tries so hard to help the Inquisitor, and stands by them when things go sideways. He rallies the remaining Templars and by the end of it on my first playthrough I was just... I can't conscript you, we'll be partners. I did the Mage quest and I strangely find myself missing him. It's weird. I was so proud when I promoted him on my first playthrough, it's the only mission which wasn't a sentencing on the throne. I feel bad he became a behemoth. Poor guy.

The whole quest just feels more personal.

Fiona on the other hand... desperate sure, but not a lick of sense in her head. I still have to playthrough it again to get the Solas dialogue if he's been infected by red lyrium, but after that I think it's Templars 4 Lyfe.

If that was true, Solas would have gotten it by now.

Ser Barris was definitely one of my favorite quest NPCs. He stopped and doubted things when they seemed wrong and tried so hard to help. I didn't conscript them either, Solas wasn't happy but... I just couldn't. I thought they would do well. I promoted him, too! I was quite pleased that we were able to make such a decision.

The  templar quest definitely felt more personal to me. More involved. I felt SO MUCH during it.

I haven't gotten that far in my siding with the mage playthrough.

I find it funny, I've never once seen Solas being labeled racist for being race gated as female elf  (Which he totally is, a little bit.)  But poor Cullen gets these trolls that insist he's racist for having a preference.

I was pretty pro-Mage going into Inquisition, so I was like what happened? Ser Barris, apparently. I was conscious of Solas influence at the time and Varric influence because my Hawke had sided with the mages so I knew I'd be taking hits with both of them. Solas and I were buddies on my first playthrough but he agreed with none of my decisions (siding with the Templars, keeping the Wardens), I just kept earning approval off little stuff early in the game and making up for it in dialogue. So, that was nice.

I need a Lavellan that Solas doesn't agree with and snogs anyway because ha!

My own Solas/Lavellan smut is a little more fluffy, though he is still the dominant one in the relationship.
I'm used to writing Fenris smut. I found this harder.

http://archiveofouro...g/works/2732900

I really enjoyed this! Good smut to fluff ratio. I don't usually read fanfic at all, but I've encountered a lot of really quality stuff in the last few weeks. Bioware fans are the best.

I'll add to this and say: I really think he's the sort who tops from the bottom.

Same here. After all, no true god need prove himself. ;)

And yeah, I don't see him as jealous or possessive at all. I think above all he wants Lavellan to be happy, and he realizes that she would probably be happiest with anybody but him. Yet she keeps coming back, and he finds himself unable to resist. I think that's one of the reasons I love the romance so much, just from a character perspective. To see a person that's usually so logical and measured in everything he does just completely lose his heart like that.

As for the "true" Solas, I think we're seeing who he truly is during the game; a compassionate, intelligent person whose intellect sometimes runs away with him. I don't think he's quite as polite and even-keeled as he presents himself as being (he has a truly terrifying temper at times), and he's hurting more than he lets on. During his romance you can better appreciate how deeply lonely he is. He's a man out of time. I think a lot of his melancholy is homesickness.

Is it bad that I'll look forward to seeing him angry in the future?  Just a little bit?

Lol. Was Googlefu but I found this instead and couldn't resist.  XD

Well, elves are a special case in Thedas because 1. they are uniquely oppressed and 2. they are a dying race that can only perpetuate said race with other elves. Even without Solas' reveal, it would be understandable if he detested other races (and he definitely has ugly views on all of them and there has been a fair bit of calling him out about the way he treats dwarven and qunari Inquisitors especially) and only wanted to romance another elf.

Cullen doesn't have those mitigating factors, so what was more than likely an exclusion due to assets becomes something that could reflect poorly on him (although, unlike Solas, I don't think there's any indication that he assumes less from an Inquisitor because of their race).

No... angry Solas is pretty sexy.

Maybe he'll be angry at Lavellan for following him, and then they have lots of angry sex???

He's even a bit irky about the Dalish, The only beings he really holds in favor are spirits.  It's totally not pronounced that he looks down upon others, he's like one of those silent, treat everyone equal, racists.

And I really really can't see Cullen with a Qunari or Dwarf.
