My assumption was more that Mythal was like a mother to the other 'gods'. I don't think it was intended to be romantic. Although I wouldn't have too much of a crisis if I was.

"Old friend" doesn't really sound too romantic. Granted, I wouldn't be surprised if we learned that Fen'Harel and Mythal had something go on between them in the past. Whatever it is, clearly it's in the past so it doesn't really bother me.

Yeah.
Spoiler
That scene actually strikes me as more of a mother comforting a child who has screwed up massively e.g. Solas saying "I'm Sorry" and Flemeth saying "I'm sorry to" that is something you say to your kid after they have been bad and suffered the consequences

Garrus is the One. No other make the long hours of galaxy saving as valuable. plus he gets to evolve over 3 games
Now back to Solas...
I know thats not how the approval system is supposed to work but sometimes I question if Solas gives approval for things he expects the Inquisitor to do rather than simply things he would have done himself?
He is very clear in the first convo that he expect Quizzy to be a Heroe, white steed and all. So he approves of heroic acts.
But what does he really want at the beginning? His orb back? A chance to study something inexpected like what a mortal would do with the Anchor?
From there, you get approval for asking questions he has answers to. But ask how he knows about Court intrigue and youll get disapproval. So does he like your curiosity or is he enjoying throwing yarn at you ?(not sure that metaphor works in english)
Of course things evnetually change with Lavellan and he appreciate her NOT being what he expected.
I dunno... just some stray thoughts.
I think Solas wants us to question everything. Question why the world works, question why and how governments work, hell question why the grass is green. However, never ever question his past and never point out flaws in his swiss cheese backstory.
He's so ... ugh... I love him, but damn sometimes. Especially how angry he gets when someone is hiding the truth. (*cough* Blackwall *cough cough*) He needs to be the one who knows everything. He's actually very similar to Sera. It's just that he has many more boxes in which to put people.
Remember how confused he was about time travel and he questioned you immediately. Most of the answers gained negative feedback, because they did not fit into the box. Only future Solas immediately believed Dorian and that may have just been desperation coupled with seeing physical proof.

Okay I'm almost done with my ...story.
I need a few things translated into elvish if anyone could oblige?
1. My heart. It is you I desire. (This is as fluffy as it gets hahah.)
2. Sleep Well.
3. Touch.
4. Heat.
Okay thanks. lol.
1. Simplest would be: Vhenan'ara - heart's desire.
Ma vhenan. Ma vhenan'ara
2. There's no word for be well, closest I can surmise would probably be something like: era hamin - dream rest/relax
3. Nothing I can find.
4. Nothing for this one, either.

Expanding on 1. Ma vhenan - My heart. 2. ma ema'vhenan'ara - you are my heart's desire.
There's no word for desire, despite 'ara' being used. Ara'vel can mean a journey with a purpose. Ara could potentially mean "journey", which could mean vhenan'ara mean's heart's journey, thus, desire?
Further research on number 2: dareth era - be safe dream.

Wouldn't have to do the body hopping thing if he was one of the original ancient elves, they're immortal and Mythal has taken over mortal, human bodies.
And I don'g think Abelas would out him, he's a god after all.

Post in this thread about it, please (and maybe click "me too" on the EA Answers thing)! o: I'm trying to get someone from BioWare to notice and maybe let us know what happened here, because according to what I've learned he says he "warned" a non-romanced Inquisitor and "begged" a romanced Inquisitor. To me that makes it sound like there should have been two separate conversations at the Well with Solas depending on whether or not he was in a relationship with the Inquisitor, but unless a BioWare employee tells us what happened there, there's no way to know for sure.
Okay, that's good. It would have been nice to see a scene where Solas gets close to her and says not to do it, actually begging instead of just saying "don't do it" from the sidelines.

Well at least he tries?
I mean I do truly believe Solas tries to understand the modern world.
He will concede points to others like Varric when he explains why he is a topsider, he will say he is opened to understanding the templars if you stop them from harassing mages by getting them under Inquisition authority, etc.
But he fails miserabily to connect (other then with Lavellan, and that is up for debate at the end). So he goes back to seeing the big picture.
Its like a human studying ants. You can be facinated by what they accomplish and opened to their way of doing things. But when you wanna pic-nic they need to go somewhere else. You dont want to control the ants per say (certainly not individualy), but you got things to do...

I think Solas is kinda like the superego and the id without the ego holding them together. (Black wolf/White wolf) He's intensely logical but gets swept away by his passions. He's certain he knows what's right, but is blindsided by anything outside of his experience. When it comes to Blackwall, I think he's angrier at himself for being fooled by the masquerade than he is Blackwall lying to him. He believes he's the only one who can carry this terrible responsibility, to do what must be done, but if his initial plan fails he doesn't have a contingency. He's reckless and impulsive (he wouldn't get into a relationship with Lavellan or made the mistake he did with Corypehus if he wasn't) and that short sightedness is pretty much what causes his plans to fail. He wins his chess game with Bull by making massive sacrifices instead of trying to conserve resources. He makes a plan and sticks to it no matter the cost, even if he loses irreplaceable pieces along the way.
If Lavellan moved on, he'd be happy for her (or at least attempt it). He wants what's best for her, he wants her to be with someone who deserves her. He also be intensely jealous and angry though more at himself than her. Intellectually, he'd know he was being foolish and unfair. However, it would gnaw at him and at his pride. I think he'd do his best to stay away, I'm just not sure he'd manage it. "But losing you would..." "I can't do this..." Hot to cold, hot to cold, back and forth the pendulum swings.

He could totally be the 'karma is a b****` type and make sure to prove how wrong people are by making things blow up in their face (metaphorically). Then giving the I told you so glance and smirking in silence.

I'm sure he was something of a trickster when he was younger. He played the game. He all but says he did at the ball when he comments about power plays. I think he was probably a very intelligent guy who was all too happy to embrace the world that the 'gods' had created. But something eventually pushed him over the edge.
I would really love a novel about the fall of Arlathan. I feel like there's a really awesome story there.

Exactly. Despite all his faults, that's what makes me admire him. He really does try. He listens to you when you explain yourself, and if you make a good point then he concedes it. Hell, he does that for everyone. It makes me sad when people talk about him as being arrogant because that really isn't an arrogant thing to do. I definitely think he was once arrogant and overbearing, but you can tell that he's tried to correct that. I think Solas's harshest critic is himself.
