Hmmm. Was just thinking, with Solas wandering the world, if word of Fen'Harel gets out... I wonder if he'll rise up again as a "good" deity, as he seems to have possibly been considered early on?
Or... bear with me for another theory.
Fen'Harel is represented by both a black and a white wolf. Could this represent the duality of nature that we saw when we encountered the Lady of the Forest/Witherfang in Dragon Age: Origins? Maybe when we say he's the god of rebellion we're looking at it wrong. He didn't seem to originally have that title. The codex entry suggests that maybe he had a different name before.
Maybe Solas was originally more associated with nature?
Also, still uncertain why he is specifically represented as a wolf. Do wolves have a special meaning to him? Can he take the form of a wolf? Does he often appear as a wolf in the Fade?
Other things to think about in terms of black/white duality: Not just good/evil, but night/day, the Fade/Reality, physical/spirit, life/death. The key to understanding Solas may be understanding what the duality of his emblem represents.
Someone mentioned they thought Solas might be Falon'din. What if Fen'Harel is what happened when Dirthamen and Falon'din became not just two entities who were always close, but merged into one soul within one being?
