Gonna try to stay optimistic. I mean, Morrigan got her closure so...Hopefully Solas won't be the one character that absolutely cannot have a happy ending. I want to make cookies and pass them out to everyone. Everyone who comes in now gets a blanket and a cookie.

So, with it confirmed with Solas going to tell QUizzy the truth about him and instead thinks up the tattoos. I wonder if that's true. At least in the way he put it to that extreme. I mean take a look at Abelas. He had them and would be a "slave" too. But without needing to they've all guarded the temple anyway. To what extent was "slavery"
It's just a comparison though. That doesn't mean they're going to turn out exactly the same. (And remember, Mordin doesn't actually have to die.)

There are a few romance stories across media that stick forever with me, things so sad, lovely, or whatever, that I remember them years after.
I'll probably never forget those; right now it's 5. I told myself that maybe we were reading to much into the scene, maybe it all is not as bad as it looked... Now there's no way around it, and no matter how that will end, my heartbreaking romance list is up to 6 now.

Haha, I know. In defense of it though- Mordin's character arc is one of the best Bioware has done. Every ending with him is great. Its tragic, yes, but not in a bad way. If Solas's storyline was similar to his, I don't think people would be disappointed with it. I don't think tragedy is the only way Solas can end in. [In fact, you could say that he's had so much tragedy already that a happier ending is more deserved.]
But if they are shooting for tragedy, Mordin is the best character model you could come from. His death is very much a triumph. Not one of being relentlessly depressing.

It's more amusing than bothersome, but it's a pretty big thing (her appearance and culture) to just drop on her on a whim as a cover-up. The vallaslin removal scene loses its significance in a way after knowing that.
I guess that's true. I have a feeling, given what we know of Solas, that the vallaslin might have actually been something bothering him for a while. I think he might have eventually brought it up with Lavellan under different circumstances.

well not necessarily, you can choose not to recruite him... I'm not a krogan lover, I don't miss him. All I want is to save Mordin 
Okay, so I am going to leave it at Mr. Weekes is a deceptive bastard when it comes to his characters. If we were *really* going to see Solas again, and continue the romance in some manner, I would think he'd like to throw us off that trail. He never actually said we wouldn't be able to reconcile/join Solas, he was just letting us know what it was like to *write* Solas.
Now, that aside, some of the romances were or could be left ambiguous, maybe it'll end up being a bit like Mass Effect going onto Mass Effect 2. We lost (most) of our companions, we lost Kaidan/Ashley only to be reunited with them in ME3. Having a "break" from the romance makes in more interesting.

Finished listening, and I finally know what Garrus' mandibles taste like! Yay. *snicker*
Ahem. Well, seriously, I don't think it was that sad. Once more we heard that Solas does care(and the author, in fact, cared very much), and we get one amazing fact that he almost told you who he was! That alone was worth the whole hour. And there'll be no end to fan tears if they don't add anything for the closure, so I don't think our situation is hopeless and that we're all doomed. 
Now I'll just go and dream about... um... you'll never guess his name!

It's funny, but I can only imagine it bothered him all along to see her wearing slave markings when his big thing is personal freedom. You can tell because he looks pleased and touched if she asks him to remove them.
I wonder if the vallaslin reveal was rolled up in the Truth. I imagine had he told her about his identity, he might have led to the vallaslin thing. Like hey I wanna tell you everything about Elvhenan and why I'm doing what I'm doing and part of that is telling you about their slavery thing. When he decides he can't tell her everything, he quickly pulls a part from all of that. Or maybe not.
Anyone ever seen a Knight's Tale (with Heath Ledger?). You know the scene where he's writing a letter to Jocelyn as a group with everyone. He keeps searching for what to talk about "her breasts" "no...maybe go a bit higher..." "the moon" "the moon?" "Yes [surprisingly romantic stuff]". That scene reminds me of the Vallaslin scene for some reason.
My question was the first community one that was asked! : D At least we weren't the only ones that suffered...(Poor Weekes. Poor us.)

Thanks to Dragon Age: Inquisition I can't watch Torchwood anymore. In both cases GDL works with a team that fights all of the weirdness that pops out of a rift in the fabric of reality.
It's okay, Torchwood was a horrible and anger inducing series with Gwen as the Main character. . .Wait, I just realized. My word, she was a Mary Sue or pretty close to one. o.o
Kind of sad they didn't talk about his tarot cards...
