I made an Elven Pantheon chart because I can't think in paragraphs when things get too complex, I need to break them down into colors and connections in a more abstract way. Maybe this will help you guys! I've also included a couple notes in gray about things that are unclear/ speculation.

Here's the elven fresco I referenced with Dirthamen:

Spoiler

EDIT: right click open image in new tab should make the chart big enough for you to read it! Apologies about my handwriting in advance.

If you look at your chart in a mythological sense then you see where Bioware got their inspiration from. The Greek Gods and Goddesses. Hera led the other Gods and Goddesses against Zeus...Mythal did the same to Elgar'nan.

So tell me would these Elven Gods not equal the Greek Gods and Goddesses when presented like this:

Elgar'nan=Zeus-Strongest of the Olympians.

Mythal=Hera-Motherhood and equal to Zeus.

June=Hephaestus-God of Forge and things associated with forges.

Sylaise=Hestia-Goddess of Hearth and Home

Andruil=Artemis-Goddess of the Hunt

Ghilal'Nain=Aphrodite-Beauty/Peace

Falon'Din=Hades-Death

Dirthamen=Athena-Wise and often knew of deceit/was revolted by it.

Fen'Harel=Hermes-Messenger of the Gods, and was extremely cunning.

Oh my goodness... fourty pages. *swoons* The Thane thread was never this bad. I'm never going to catch up on all this. :crying:

I guess not to make Cass be divine you should not claim yourself as Herald of Andrastate...my first play through I always goes like I don't know I don't think so will Andrastate chooses an elf to be her Herald...

Honestly, I think that theory is just over-read, and it provides no solid evidence.
Her tarot card could just be an coincidence, or since she's an elf as well as an archor, they just got inspiration from Anduil's Vallaslin.
The banter between she and Solas or Cole, at my point of view, only means that she was born with close connection with fade (as many other elves do), but she refuse to accept her nature and her talent, to listen to the elvhen part within.

After all, Sera might never get recruited and can be kicked out any time you like...it just...makes no sense

I agree: Sera as a god... I don't think so. The mere fact that she can never be recruited means she is not entirely that important to the overarching storyline and Elvhen Gods would be important to the overarching storyline. It would be very difficult to add her into the storyline later and have her remain a sympathetic character, as she is in the game if you recruit her and talk to her.

Solas art! (Placed under spoiler tag due to size)

Edited to add: Cullen, Lavellan, and Solas love triangle?

LOVE the top art; reading the fic for the second art. It's all right.

Also I'm totally going to need a screen shot of that butt grab... For science.

That is so sweet! He really does care for her if he does small things like that.

I really need to install these mods and play my Kani pt again. *sigh* I just can't make another Lavellan for him. It's feels too much like he is cheating on Kani if I do that.

... *stream of profanities* HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS. Also I've been playing around in my head that Ghilal'Nain must've gotten around quite a bit for that love triangle to have been a thing and possibly even the connection to Fen'Harel via the offering table to him in her grove... AGH.

It actually took me a bit to look at your chart and then put everything together. If you did not make your chart then I may have never connected the two, lol! Plus I love my mythology.

Wait...what is this about Fen'Harel and Ghilal'Nain? Is there a tale about it...may I hear it, lol?

Zarro that chart is seriously impressive! That must have taken a lot of work. Unfortunately I miss out on a lot of the banter dialogues and the codex entries so I haven't seen a lot of that. Do you mind if I save a copy as a reference for my post-game fic?

Okay, so there is no tale about the two of them EVER having a connection. The only thing that tipped me off of them having any at all was that in Ghilal'nain's grove (over by where you can fight the Dragon in the Exalted Plains) there is a shrine where you are to put an offering to the Dread Wolf. Something you don't see ANYWHERE else or in ANY of the temples/ shrine you stumble upon in the game thus far - even if they do have statues of the Dread Wolf within them.

EDIT: So yes, strange that in a place dedicated to one God you have an offering place to another..

Really, you can do that?

Anyway, here is the most endearing little post-game fic that I have ever read. It really warms the heart. And the main character is so adorable! :wub:

If the Dalish were slave markings, would that mean they were descendants of slaves and peasants? Would they only eat simple and seasonal foods because they're nomadic? If Solas were to meet a clan friendly enough to share food with guests, how would Solas react? Would he be like, "This peasant food is worst than before" or would he be ok with it since it's new and different.

Yup, you can totally save a copy of my chart for reference!

Oh it's yours! Sorry, hon! Crediting the wrong person... I need to wake up a bit more, lol. :unsure:

Thank you so much. It is very helpful, though my relationship between Andruil and Fen'Harel is going to be a bit different. ;)

Interesting. I am going to have to go back there and see this shrine, I know I checked it out...since I check out everything in DA:I so I can gather more speculation ideas. Is this shrine able to be interacted?

Lol, that is not my chart! The honor belongs to Miss. Liza! I only just connected the dots and was able to get the complete picture,.

If the majority of Arlathan elves were slaves, probably. If it was more of a set-up like Tevinter, then they'd likely be a mixture. From what Felassan says, it sounds like at some point the slaves rose up against the Dreamer mage ruling class. But I picture there being tons of slaves, from plantation slaves to household slaves to warrior-monk badasses like our dear Abelas.

The Dalish claim to be the descendants of the nobility of the Dales, the successor state to Arlathan. They wear the vallaslin as a homage to their gods. Do we know if the actual Dales practiced vallaslin? But yeah, they're probably mostly into cooking meat and veggies in various creative ways. And it probably varies from region to region. I don't picture Solas as being that picky. :)

That is an interesting thought. Even though 2000 years have past since Arlathan  the original survivors are going to know what the vallaslin means. It is possible that the meaning was lost to time (as so much usually is), but for quite a while they would have remembered. Maybe the meaning was lost after Halamshiral?

Also I think that during the wars the slaves and peasants would be the first killed in order to protect their masters during Arlathan's fall. Historically the powerful do not sacrifice themselves if there are other people they can send in their stead.

Holy moly I'm TP today? YAY! Hold on let me find a new one of Mappeli's works.

Do the stupid pink bows on the Orlesian gowns bother anyone else?

I keep saying BioWare needs to hire a style consultant!

Well, it's an offering shrine, you don't have the option to do so, it's just what you're supposed to do there. Lemme find the codex entry...

Couldn't find it but here's a link to someone who found it on tumblr. Hah! I had forgotten, YOU EVEN GET APPROVAL FROM SOLAS WHEN YOU CLAIM IT. And there's an artifact nearby too.

Haha! Subtle indeed! XD

For some reason I was thinking of the Emerald Graves dragon.

Offside: I freaking HATE fighting the Exalted Plains dragon. My party keeps jumping, and leaping, and running, and swimming around in electrocuted water! I'm always like: "GET THE **** OUT OF THE WATER ALREADY! I've revived you TEN TIMES already! WHY WON"T YOU LEARN?!"

Considering there are probably over 100 wolf statues...Bioware wasn't being all that shady with their secret. Once you knew what to look for that is.

That's my thought, having 2 companions secretly be elven gods is just too big of a coincidence. But the argument is strong, it seems.

Ahh, thank you! I appreciate that correction. I've been trying to sort out the different artistic styles as it's been bothering me quite a bit. Yes, there are those super rough elven frescos, but then in the Emerald Graves there are those that are beautifully rendered and show a deep understanding of anatomy. I can't tell which predates the other. If we are to assume Arlathan was this glittering amazing wealth of knowledge Athens style, then yes, the more intricate ones are first and the more childlike paintings are due to the Elven equivalent of the Dark Ages.

I wonder if I should ask David Gaider is that's where he got the inspiration for the Elven Gods...that cannot be mere coincident. The Greeks seem to influence us even today, that just tells you how epic their culture was!
