Hmm... so regarding the 'prophesy' in the Black Emporium book... It seems that some event (rendered as two shadowed spheres overlapping/in eclipse) triggered Solas' awakening. I remember a mosaic depicting two cirles overlapping. Where was that again? In Dirthamen's temple?
So, I was reading through the post on hear and read where someone was talking about the green lyrium in the hissing waste....I think.
Well I am not sure it was a type of lyriums, but possibly glowing slime, which leechs lyrium from the stone.....
I'm guessing the green lyrium looking rocks came about like this. They were just regular clear crystals, but hissing wastes have a lot of rifts and so the crystals became fade-touched and took on a green color. Kind of boring, but if it's really green lyrium, you would think that someone would have mentioned something.
I really like the Hissing wastes but I always feel like I can never complete a thorough sweep of it because of how big it is.
I have this same problem, it also does not help that I had already spent HOURS upon HOURS slogging through some of the other quests..
I think the person who found it discovered it in the tomb of the emerald knights. It would take some digging to find it though. I believe it was 3 circles also. One large one in the center with two eclipsing it on either side. Might still be related. Fascinating stuff, if it's all connected!
I'll try to find it myself in game. Another excuse to load up Tiger's game and headcanon her searching for Solas in all places west of Skyhold.
Found it! It was in fact discovered in the Emerald Knight's tomb by Lizasaurus (this is her screenshot):
Okay the first thing I see when I come to see this thread is Solas' ass... no bad.. dat butt *slaps Solas' butt*
Solas: ò.O'' * Turns around rubbing his butt. * what the heck are you doing!?
* Slaps his butt again. *
Solas: Ò.Ó'''
*Big grin.*

I had a new thought about that today. I'm wondering if the "green lyrium" we see in the Hissing Wastes isn't actually the same material we see as floating rocks and such in the Fade. In other words, the rifts in the Hissing Wastes could be transforming the ground around them to resemble the terrain of the Fade.
Okay so ....someone... has finally finished chapter 5 of The Young Wolf.

I'm so glad that is updated. It has not been proof read yet because... the person... has not done it yet.
It may have gotten a little out of control with the sex. But....they.... just went with where they felt it was going.
I mean what kind of weirdo writes such smut? Not me. That's for sure. It's this author. What a weirdo....>_>
That was the worst piece of trash I've ever exposed my eyeholes to.
... I uuuhhh, better read it again, just to be sure of how much I lo- no, hate it.

NEW VIDEO OUT GUYS!! I AM SORRY! This took a long time for me to make and.... * cries all over again * the feels...
THE FEELSSS ... oh god. It's all fresh again. ;___;
Oh yeah I was also going to throw this out there.
What if the Magisters did not really enter the fade, but found a way to enter the real black city that is possibly at the center of the world of Thedas, because the portal that opened did so below. They were able to look down into the Black city before they entered....I have this whole big theory that I am going to have to type up later on this, because it is very involved and if I tried to type it up on the fly it would be a disaster.

I thought about that too... the green stuff reminds me of those 'shadowed veridium' crystals we can loot in the Fade. and they only appear by the rifts there. I don't think it's actually supposed to be lyrium. There's 'Fade rocks' around the Breach and all over future!Redcliff too... but they're the sparkly black ones, not green. Still, I remember thinking the green stuff was just the Fade 'leaking' into the material world when I saw it in the game. It is weird that no one comments on them though.

x33 I will make more of them<3 I am sorry<3
That collaboration picture is looking amazing so far!
I think it's kind of interesting that there's only one version of the 4 armed statue guy. I'm not sure if it's mostly a resource issue, but it seems a little significant that this one particular style of statue is seen in places. If it was meant to represent a different "persona" you'd think the designers would come up with similar styles of statues, not the exact same one.
Is the entity it represents that ubiquitous a presence, or of particular importance that its remnants are found in multiple places?
Dumat was the most powerful of the Old Gods, and it was "his" statue we first encountered in DA2. Other creepy statues are found in caves, and apparently forgotten elven ruins with secrets to hide. He may not be related directly to the elven pantheon, but rather their dark counterparts. The dark gods/demons/whatever only vaguely remembered that are supposed to exist in the Void.
Tevinter stole a lot of stuff from the elves, but iirc they had their Old God cult for a long while before warring with the Elvhen. Dumat could be a manifestation (or is) of whoever the most powerful of the dark gods. It would align in their interests to subvert the elven pantheon, acquire power, worshipers, and the means to destroy their enemies. It seems like they built up the Imperium into a powerful force to do something in the Fade. The Black City is important. It was important to direct their most powerful magister priests to invade it for some reason.
Corypheus says it was to serve the Old Gods in person. As if their whole essence was not in their physical dragon forms. The forgotten evil gods could be trapped in some fashion in the Black City, OR, it was their lie spun to deliberately bring the magisters there. To release the Blight corruption. The elven gods, while immortal, are not incorruptable. Flemeth says as much in the beginning of DAO when the Warden asks her why she cares about the Blight. Because eventually it will swallow and corrupt everything...even her. You could argue that it's Flemeth just giving a reasonable answer to throw them off, but she doesn't have much of a history of lying to the protagonists she saves.
The Blight may in fact be a deliberate infection meant to kill or corrupt the elven gods. That it infects everything else is a pleasing side benefit (damn it Solas. I can't stop using this phrase). Andruil turned to madness and possibly brief corruption after venturing into the Void several times to hunt dark and monstrous things. Was that a test/precursor to the "true" Blight later?
Supposedly she was cured after fighting with Mythal, and lost her memory of how to find the Void. If she was actually cured, it wasn't true Blight. If only her memory was erased and not the corruption...her slow death and the eventual corruption of any followers she was in contact with could have had a hand in the downfall of Arlathan and the Elvhenan empire. The hitch in the latter idea is that somehow it would have to have been contained long enough for the Imperium to invade, pillage, and force the elves into slavery. And then however many other years it took before the Old God dragons went silent/disappeared, and the high priests of each dragon to create and put in motion the plan to invade the Fade.
The fact that the Old Gods disappeared/left the Imperium is interesting in and of itself. There are no hints other than a codex entry written by a slave in service to Corypheus before he became corrupted. The man had a wife. He was a devoted follower. Stern, but not cruel with his slaves. At some point the Old Gods disappeared and the Old God cult was in the decline due to fear about their gods being missing, At some point, something was whispering to Corypheus in his dreams. And that's all he listened to until Fade invasion day.
Is there a thedas alphabet or are the random scribbles everywhere meaningless?
That bothers me too! why don't you get a new outfit!! Even if you wanted resemblance of your home origins, at least upgrade it! There's a trillion tailers in orlais who could make it look however you want with better quality materials. Hell, fereldan tailers are all about craftsmanship and comfort. Everyone got a new outfit except morrigan!
I tend to think of her letting out a huge sigh of relief once she puts that old outfit on. I imagine that she'd not been able to wear it the entire time she was at court and the tight corsets and hoop skirts must have bothered her to no end with their confinement. Also I'm sure she's quite pleased that it still fits after so many years, and especially since having a baby!
My Mahariel will very much appreciate seeing her and their son again. ![]()
Solas with hair is just... nope. Not seen a single "improvement" that actually improves on him. I think the designers got him just right.
No I wouldn't want the version we have in game to be replaced with a model that has hair. That fan art however is the first one I've actually liked. I think of it as what he might have looked like a loooooong time ago. It looks good. But you are right that our Solas is best Solas.
