Dorian's doing pretty well.  And thus far the romance with him and Adaar on my second playthrough has been surprisingly sweet.  And I'm pretty sure Dorian's not going to turn out to be an ancient magister, dump me, and run off to do mysterious evil things.

Ha. Nah, Dorian's romance is surprisingly touching. Was not expecting warm fuzzy feelings from it but there we go. I think he and my male Lavellan may be the DA couple I'm most attached to now. I shouldn't let that happen. My Bioware pairings have not worked out well for me.

Considering how quickly this thread grows and how it never sleeps and how you find the time to draw fan art, write fan fiction, watch movies and TV series and still have some "real life" left I seriously wonder... Do you actually ever play video games?

I've been a horrendous hermit this month. But the weather has been awful...That's my excuse so I'm running with it.

 

Actually, it is my birthday tomorrow and I'm being dragged away for the weekend, into the daylight for some kind of surprise and socialising. 

But fiiiiiiirst. I'm taking my Female Lavellan into In Your Heart Shall Burn and onto Skyhold for dat Fade Tongue before I head to sleep.

I have gotten surprisingly attached to my Adaar and Dorian too.  Probably because I'm bracing for the worst with Solas and Lavellan and trying so hard not to get my hopes up for a happy ending with them.  It's just nice to play a romance without thinking, "Yep, here we go on the heartbreak train."

After my romances with Alistair and Fenris turned out relatively happy (for Dragon Age), I'm not that upset by having one character with a sad romance. They can't all be winners!

 

As long as they do right by Solas' character, I really don't care all that much about how the romance turns out. My Lavellan will survive, she's tough.

Yeah, but some theorize that just might be referring to the vallaslin.

But still, the Andrastians (or at least the heretical Inquisition ones) in the game keep reinforcing this idea of there being only one god, one world, one life. I think that is significant. So one god, one world, one reality. Everything we see is a fragment of this whole. This parallels the idea of the veil being created, or possibly just an illusion, and that the fade was once a natural part of the world, like the air (as Solas says back in Haven).

 

So this made me think about how the Fade is the world of dreams and that it is created by, basically, dreamers.

 

What if it's the opposite?  What if the Fade is the "real world" and physical Thedas is nothing but a manifestation of thoughts that became "solid" over time?

I went Warden!Alistair and Anders.  Whoops.  Though TBH the main reason why I'm so cut up about Solas and Lavellan is that of my three canonical PCs, she's the one who deserves a happy ending the most.  My Hawke went full-bore Villain Protagonist before getting redemption by death, and my Warden, while still a half-way decent person, has a pretty significant selfish and vengeful streak.

 

So of course, in the game where I make the first unambiguously heroic PC I've had in a long time, she goes and falls in love with Mr. Heartbreak Egghead

Off topic, but was it ever said when we would see the DAI choices in the Keep? I'm curious if they're going to wait a loooooong time before finishing that section. You can already see the tiles for the Inquisitors, though, and we know what that Solas romance icon looks like~

Hawke and which ever twin spend a year in servitude, Act 1 starts after the events of DAO:A. 

 

 

 

 

And DA Awakenings starts at least 6 months after DA Origins ends. ( Since if you go the Cousland as Queen route she's married in DAA and at the end of DAO it says the wedding is 6 months after the game ends) The time line is a little messed up tbh.
