Solas said, that all gods have foci. It isn't necessarily orbs, could be any object
So like Andruil's spear then.

Alright, thank you. Was thinking about that picture of the ritual symbol and what the symbols might mean.
He says, specifically, "Such things were foci, said to channel power from our gods. Some were dedicated to specific members of our pantheon."
So ... it's kind of a toss up if all elven gods had them and apparently only some of the orbs (not all of them) related to specific gods.

I bet you dollars to donuts Dirthamen made a Great Bear his foci, Cornflakes and Red Lyrium Dragon style.
Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but I saw it and thought you guys would like it!

That seems to be the same statue behind Flemeth and Kieren in the Fade.

I'm on board. Dirthamen's representation as a hooded figure is traceable through his temple as well, though the earlier statuary has a more obvious "hooded Death" look. Appropriate, given his domain and context:
Something about the particular pose of the later hooded statuary makes me think it's at least partially a meta-game shout out to Ubisoft. Dirthamen as a shadowy figure of death and secrets, quietly pushing society toward revolution? ... yeah, not that big a stretch, really. Sign him up for the brotherhood.
Also, interesting juxtaposition here gives a bit more weight to the idea of a late Arlathan / early Ferelden era Dirthamen + Ghilan'nain connection represented by the Bear and the Halla Maiden.
We knew the wolf was way too smooth an operator to be completely new to the game, but being confronted with evidence in mural form still stings a bit. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ Get your girl under control, Andruil.

Interesting, that sort of was Cornflakes "orb". He pretty much was a god already, and all from the power of the blight. And directly from the source of the black city.
Doesn't that further support the idea that the blight and red lyrium are of the old gods? Cornflakes gets tainted directly from the black city and comes out with the power to make his own foci, which gives him archdemon abilities...
Kicking myself in the ass for having bought Solas Shirt the other day when they are now on sale.
Could have saved $5
And..they have cole and Varric's necklaces...Why not a Solas one? >.<
Over all -- needs moar Solas merch imo. Like one of the arts they have of Cassandra..or the tarot they have of Varric and Sera, etc.
I need a Solas necklace, badly.
Random things.
Anyone else kind of annoyed that, as an elf, when you first ask Solas about elvish culture he's all like don't you mean you want to tell me about elvish culture cause you're dalish. I mean, here's a guy who hates being judged by the shape of his ears and he'd much rather be judged as an individual yet he makes a snarky comment and judges you from the marks on your face. I really wanted to call him out for the hypocrisy.
Also I wish I could turn on headgear just for Cole. His hats are a bit much but they kind of fit him and without them he has a case of permanent hat hair. Poor kid.

Aha, and then Dirthamen has his owl. Or was it Falon'Din?

Unless I'm missing where he says that I don't think Solas says that all the gods had foci just that the orbs were foci. And only some were dedicated to specific gods.
Ugh, What Lies Dormant. I was so excited for you, then you were just a bonus boss fight. No additional dialogues, or at least none that I saw. Boo.

I know, I just mean it's interesting because Cornflakes himself creates his own. It's rather impressive to me and just goes to show just how powerful the taint really is. They hinted at that in the origins DLC too.
And I'm wondering what about the taint and receiving it so close to the city makes you godlike. What exactly is in it.

Judging by her ToM mosaic, Andruil would've been Arlathan-Tranquil at that point, though. So less likely a magical focus as a June-crafted, Andruil-approved Red Lyrium powered laser. (Full theory here)

Oh my lord there's too many damn theories for that damn black city. I like this one though. Just makes me more frustrated at the missing info, however.

Yeah...I bought my shirt two days ago *sighs* Oh well. I also NEED a Solas necklace!
This fandom seriously needs a Michael Kirkbride to give out of game details on metaphysics and such.
I love bioware, but their jewelry prices are insanely overpriced. Insaaanely. The Cole necklace you could probably make for under five bucks.
What we need is to get the wolf jaw as a 3Dprintable object. Then people can just order one, paint it, and add a leather string. Assuming they don't actually want to wear bones.
I think that's basically what happens with the boons from DA:O. Aren't the Dalish supposed to have part of the Brecilian Forest? Yet for some reason Merrill's clan fled Ferelden to go to the Free Marches? I don't find those particularly satisfying, because I feel like that by not expanding, the games end up acting like those choices never happened. At least if they're big decisions.
The Dalish were supposed to be given the Hinterlands, up to and including the ruins of Ostagar. The Epilogues mention the Dalish settled these lands, and Lanaya kept the peace between the Dalish and their human neighbors. Lanaya was also a respected figure at court. Like the Magi Boon, this was rectonned. The Dalish don't inhabit the Hinterlands, and the region belongs to the arling of Redcliffe.
I'm honestly not sure why Lavellan can't mention this in a post-Dalish Boon world, especially when Redcliffe asks for "reparations" if you side with the mages.
I don't think my canon Lavellan could kill Solas, or that she would really have any reason to. She pretty much cares about "her people" - the elves and the Inquisition - and no one else. If Solas is helping the elves then she'll have no qualms with him. He'd have to be doing some objectively bad stuff and even then she'd have a hard time justifying his execution.
I wouldn't want to kill Solas, either. Revas and Solas were friends, and if he has a way to help the Elvhen, I'd want to work alongside him as an ally.

I'm going to bow to national stereotypes and suggest that we have our fellow fans in Russia go out and hunt wolves with their bare hands. ![]()

I advise that you build up a collection.
When Dirthamen secretly shows up as a sexy and sneaky elf love interest in DA4, they'll be quite the demand. ![]()
Ehehe. Personally, I don't know if I'd wear a huge wolf jaw. But I wouldn't mind a small charm if its ever available.

The only difference I note is that there are actually elves living in Redcliffe arling, whereas I can't think of a single one who's there in Origins other than Berwick the spy. Lloyd (the great loremaster) thinks an elven Warden has escaped from an alienage.

Reminds me of one of Geralt's trophies. People would start thinking you're Wicken or something.
