There are. There are those things. I'd like a bit more expansion on them, but it's definitely a start.
(Somewhat unrelated by LG related nonetheless)

Absolutely, it is her great triumph that this conversation has been going on for days now. I would give anything for such an analysis of my own stuff, even if the verdict was that it sucked. I can't speak for the others but as i said earlier, i say this out of love. I dont spend my few days off analysing fanfction i don't enjoy.
I mean, I really did enjoy it. But I also have a nasty habit of over-analyzing everything. Including things I hate. Sometimes especially things I hate.
Like I said, I get accused of being overly logical FAR more often than I get accused of being overly emotional.
Also, I mean, what the hell else is there to do at four in the morning when you're procrastinating work?
Shameless self-promo, 'coz I worked on this chapter through sweat and blood and still unsure about it. Chapter 14 (don't fret! My chapters are short!) of my little fic is out in the open, feel free to criticize. Also, my husband is talking me out of putting smut in. Hmm. Mull, mull.
Also, jawline. Angles are sexy.

So true. Who needs hair when you have a jawline like that?

How come our player character can never be as interesting as a well-written NPC? I get that there is always headcanon to make the character interesting, but I want to play a complex character in the game. It seems that the personalities are still mainly mr. nice, miss funny, and mr. direct/aggressive. I guess once in a while you get the sad options or confused options, but I don't know. I want to play as a mysterious cunning person and that seems hard to pull off. Maybe I'm just not selecting the right choices.
yeah, it would be pretty difficult to do. What I really want is to start off the game in my character's origins. I remember the whole game wishing I could see clan Lavellan x-x
It would allow for more characterization, but without being too limiting.
the origins were one of my favorite parts from DA:O x-x
RE All of these things. ![]()
Origins was far superior in the role playing department than all of the other Bioware games I've played. Your PC could be darned interesting. The reasons being, the wide assortment of playable origin stories (which were not on-the-rails nearly as much as the beginning of DA2--heck they even had some mini-romances in them if you were into that) and also the branching dialogue trees. Back then we had more to choose from than just paragon, witty, and renegade. Once you started down a dialogue path you couldn't necessarily go back either. Your character could even be a stupid troll that couldn't stop talking about griffons if you wanted. BioWare used to build more player character development into their games.
My city elf who was kidnapped and conscripted into the Grey Wardens on what was supposed to be her wedding day provided a unique experience for me as a player. I found her much more interesting than Hawke and to some extent my Lavellan. The only thing that really makes my Lavellan interesting (unless I totally headcanon everything) is her relationship with Solas...which is pretty sad. That's the way BioWare games are now. All the RPG elements have been streamlined making each play through and each player character less unique. I still love the games, but they used to be better RPGs.

In fairness to DA2, Hawke really wants to be a dragon. ![]()
I am sad she can't give specifics -- I was so curious how spot on her headspace is. xD
I don't think I could do that here. All the baristas are total nerds and would know the subject too well to make it fun.
I didn't get this at first. I thought.. like what? There's no phones allowed in a bat mitzvah? Then I remembered. I grinned xxx core.
Solas can relate.
Solas can probably also relate.
DROSO I HEAR YOU'RE GOOD AT GIVING FEEDBACK. What's a girl gotta do to get some?
I feel like your post should end with 'and now for the weather.'
The fact that I was playing a PS2 in Cee's dream is pretty freaky - it's the only sony console I own. I have never mention that here, or to Cee in private.

I read that in Calin's voice.
Thank you
The relative lack of angst makes it easier to write than, say, canon Solavellan.
I'll extend the same offer here that I made on the writer's group. I can do quick first passes on fic drafts for basic grammar, punctuation, etc. It wouldn't be for content or with the detail of a dedicated beta, but I can catch little mistakes quickly.
I tried joining the writing group but I don't know if that went through.

And while I am at it a song:
I thought the song quit fit with Solas and Lavellan.
Gideon Emery is another one whose voice does nothing for me. Then again, in terms of DA2 romance options, neither did Adam Howden and I went for Anders.
Gideon Emery's voice is beautiful but Adam Howden's actually repulsed me.
Updated Fear & Trembling. Content warning for discussion of suicide in this chapter.

I missed Greg Ellis so much for Anders. He brought out the humour in Anders' character, whereas Adam Howden just made half of his jokes fall flat on the floor, and is nowhere near as nice to hear as Ellis' voice. I'm slightly bitter he voiced Cullen, of all people, instead.

Well, that is pretty odd.
It was one of the few times something struck me in the dream as standing out for being out of place. You were in Haven with Solas but were on PS2 and chiding me for such an old setup.

You're in there. I approved all who joined.

I like Gideon Emery and his voice does stand out but when I think about it, none of the LIs voices did anything for me in DA2. Adam Howden took a lot of getting used to for a while, initially. I missed Greg Ellis too. I wonder what he would've brought to Anders in DA2 if they let him. Still, I think he's satisfied with Cullen.
Now that I've shared it, I see so many things wrong. XD It would help if I looked at references. *cough* I'm a terrible person.
Thank you though!
If you mean to say you are terrible for using references you're not.
Artist of the highest levels use references. It's not cheating. There are examples everywhere of famous paintings and works that were all done with references whether it was a picture or model. My mother is a painter and I have seen her use references in all her work.
Sorry if this was a mini rant/tangent thing. This is just one of those weird ticks with me. I mean, the way I see it art is an interpretation of reality through some medium.
I fail to see how one can interpret reality without a reference to it.
Whatever reference an artist needs, that's up to them.
K, rant over.

*sips coffee*
Alrighty.....time to pick up where we left off getting Lavellan laid.
*sits down in writing corner of Blanket Fort*
I quite liked Adam Howden, but I'm also in the minority who liked both DAA and DA2 Anders. Howden's Anders was less funny and more fiery, which I thought worked with the whole spirit possession thing.
I liked both, and agree that the shift was appropriate for DA2. To me, it was like going from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2. Everything feels different, you waver between okay and disliking it, and then it simply takes time to adjust.
