There's a gif set showing how Solas and Abelas don't think of you as Elvhen, then Mythal says 'you have done the people proud and have come far'. So at least mother Mythal believes in us! :P.

I wonder what Solas reaction to that would be.

See, I think given that Mythal has had to crawl her way back to reality as a fragment of a spirit possessing a human body, spending several hundred years in the waking world before she's had a chance to implement her plans, means that she's seriously re-assessed any priorities as to who counts as 'the people' or not. I would believe if she'd been preserved like the others, and hadn't had that lived experience on the ground, she possibly wouldn't care either.

Still out of likes

Maybe not in 10 paragraphs, but sure :)  Have grad student Solas's morning routine:

An 'Elvhen Glory' badge, Solas, really? Forever questioning his fashion sense.

But genuinely, this was excellent. I relate a bit too much

AO3 has been having site issues for a couple of days. I haven't had trouble with it, but I follow AO3Status on Twitter and there have been updates there saying people have been dealing with slowdowns.

That is exactly what is happening. I finally get a chapter updated and fixed, click post and then server times out.

I suppose I will work on something else.

lol, I actually haven't seen the movie.

No, our top movies here are Cars, My Little Pony and Winnie the Pooh.

All three I enjoy by the way. Especially Winnie the Pooh. He's awesome.

I still love Winnie the Pooh, though none of my kids watch it anymore. Tigger will always be my bud.

Also, there's the matter of them not completely understanding what lyrium is, similar to his thoughts on the Grey Wardens - they're tapping into a force that they only vaguely comprehend, and suffer the consequences.

Solas doesn't seem to care for anything that compromises mental acuity, or creates a dependency like say caffeine. Weekes has said he also doesn't drink alcohol often, as it interferes with his sleep (though we know he was drinking at the Winter Palace - which leads me to believe he was already personally celebrating having taken the eluvians from Briala earlier that day and trying not to think about Felassan). He seems quite the ascetic at times.

Well, elven blood is more potent in blood magic rituals, which is why elven slaves are often used. It's canon that all elves used to be able to use magic when the Veil wasn't in place. I'm pretty sure that theory that all modern elves have dormant magic will prove true eventually.

Perhaps the reason the dwarves can't dream is something to do with the heart of their Titan being removed. Some speculation here:

That seems to be part of what Mythal did to make use of the dwarves when she defeated the Titan and left them empty. She gave them dreams, though maybe it was more like enslaving their minds and getting them to work the mines for her. Solas was working as her guardian at that point, so he has to know exactly what happened. He seems to prefer them to have had the connection to their Titan or the Stone, believing the loss of such to have cost them immeasurably, just like the loss of the elves connection to the Fade. I don't think he believes the dwarves were slaves to the Titan, but that they were part of the Titan, just as elves were part of the Fade.

Like the lyrium is still alive and the dwarves are still alive, but the mind is either asleep or gone. So, basically, it's a Zombie Titan, and most dwarves are part of Zombie Titans, hence them being a twitching limb with no mind to guide it. Getting the lyrium in them is basically taking in some directionless force - the reason mages are less affected, is that they have the power to guide that force - though too much lyrium will still harm them.

It does seem that they were in their own way made Tranquil with the loss of the Titan, but still able to function with emotions unlike actual Tranquil who need a spirit to break it.

I am beginning to think his anger if you drink from the Well stems from what he saw of Mythal's treatment of others. She may have been the best of them all, but she was still abusive when needed. I can't help but feel he was indirectly involved in her demise and that's also why he torments himself over her death.

Speaking of lyrium and dreams, what's this mean you think?

WE ARE HERE

WE HAVE WAITED

WE HAVE SLEPT

WE ARE SUNDERED

WE ARE CRIPPLED

WE ARE POLLUTED

WE ENDURE WE WAIT

WE HAVE FOUND THE DREAMS AGAIN

WE WILL AWAKEN

It seems to be related to how he views blood magic. It's a tool, and a powerful one. He doesn't object to its use, unless it's used as a crutch, which he objects to. Mages don't need lyrium to do what they do, but it does enhance the power of their spells in a way similar to blood magic. If mages start downing lyrium by the bucket in order to gain an advantage they wouldn't otherwise have (like Tevinter mages use blood magic), I imagine Solas would object to it. Templars *do* need lyrium to do what they do. Without it, they aren't able to access their abilities at all, which puts it in the crutch category. After all, he doesn't object to Cassandra's abilities even though they're similar to templar abilities because she is capable of using them by virtue of her training, not because she drank lyrium.

Or at least that's my take on it.

I found he had very high respect for Cassandra and tried to show it a lot during banter. I'm not sure if it's because of the spirit of Faith choosing her, or just how she handles herself, but he truly liked her it seems.

I think this is either the Titans or the Evanuris.

Or both, it was in the Fade so who knows really.

However, I lean more towards the Titans. For one, it says 'we are sundered' and just take a look at the Titan mural from Trespasser. Look like a goo dsundering to me.

The other reason is because it says 'we have found the dreams again'. Even if the Evanuris are physically trapped in the Fade somewhere(which is what I think the deal with them is) that doesn't mean they wouldn't be able to dream I would think. However, if the Titans were damaged/sundered/whatever they may have gone a long time without dreaming. Which could also then go into stuff about dwarves not dreaming and being cut off from the Titans.

What's scary is that if it is the Titans......they're saying that they will be awake soon.

I would absolutely love if that is what our next protagonist has to deal with and they get some crazy title like Titan Slayer.

That would fit the trend.  The craziness of the titles just keeps going up.

Origins: Hero of Ferelden

DA2: Champion of Kirkwall

Inquisition: Herald of Andraste, First-thaw

DA4: Titan Slayer, Supreme Badass, God Puncher, Epic Unicorn Friend

Uh... here's a thought... and it just creeped me out. We know Titans can lure with song and Old Gods sing to lure Darkspawn, what if they are connected?

Quizzy can actually point this out at the beginning of Trespasser, and Valta responds that the Titans' song is less like a melody, and more like a rhythm or breathing.  IMO it's likely related, but not the same phenomenon.  For starters, the Titan's call only works on dwarves with strong stone-sense like Valta, whereas the Archdemon calls to all tainted creatures except the original magisters (Architect, Corypheus).

I just keep getting this vibe that the Titans are seeking revenge and if that note's regarding them in the Fade, it might be a corrupted Titan ready to awaken. Their blood connects everything. Mages, Templars, Old Gods, Darkspawn and even Broodmothers. The "WE" could be because they are a hive mind.

Also the Inquisitor was attacked and had elven magic attached to them, but Valta was safe.

This is sort of the direction I see things going.

Like, I think ultimately what's been going on is a 2000+ year backlash of the war between the ancient elves and the Titans and the Dragon Age is getting to see the full repercussions of it unfold.

Which means hopefully the Evanuris show up at some point.

Cause hot damn they must be pissed.

I used to believe that this codex referred to the Creators, that we now know are called the Evanuris, because they are known to be imprisoned possibly asleep. Though the sundered, crippled and polluted parts didn't make any sense unless they were tainted (and they might be!).

It makes tons more sense for the codex to be referring to the Titans, who were literally sundered by the Evanuris to harvest lyrium, and "something else" - probably their hearts (which may actually be what the Evanuris' orbs were made out of).  They were sundered, crippled, and polluted - TAINTED, somehow, which is why there is red lyrium for them to speak through.

They seem to have been asleep for a long time, possibly because of the Veil, but it seems they have found the dreams again. The only thing I can think that means is that they have found a way to reconnect with the Fade, even with the Veil present, or they are directing/assisting, assisted by the force that will cause it to be destroyed.

The rumblings in Descent and the powers that Valta gained may be just the beginning for the dwarves and their society recovering, or being reborn - which may prove disastrous for anyone living on the surface. Especially, since it seems at least a few of the Titans (or their corpses)  are contaminated by red lyrium. Healthy Titans seem to resist or repel darkspawn, so perhaps they have a resistance, or they have yet to be tainted.

Yes this is what I see too. People are focused on Solas as the next villain, but as I said before, something deeper and bigger is behind all this, and it all seems to connect to Titan blood. No wonder Solas wants to start over. He probably knows this mess called Thedas was because of that war and the false Gods obsession with power that drove them to unleash the Blight when they sought more lyrium.

I am so curious to see what the Evanuris look like! Solas actually as wolf-like ears, so I wonder if any of them will have a look based on what they represent?

Yeah after all the stuff in Descent, I strongly feel that the Titans are the ones in that Fade note.

Maybe killing all those Archdemons are releasing them? We know Solas tried to make them forget, but maybe the OG were part of the sealing?
