Since we celebrate Christmas on the 24th here in Scandinavia I have spent all day stuffing my face with food and treats, hanging out with my family and opening my presents! I know most of you are still waiting for your turn, so I would never miss this opportunity to gloat a bit!   

 

I wish you all Happy Holidays, whether you be regular posters or lurkers, and I hope that Bioware will give us some kind of news as a Christmas present (I know, not likely, but hey we might get a Christmas miracle!).

I'm Australian but am also half-Latvian, so we traditionally celebrate Christmas on the 24th, and then again on the 25th. Christmas dinner includes with home-made piragi and galerts by my grandmother (she's Latvian), presents passed around by the youngest members of the family and just all around hanging with the maternal European side of the family. Sometimes it's a little strange being around family who speak mostly Latvian, and I don't.

Christmas for me growing up was generally dad's family on Christmas eve, and mom's family on the day, but sometimes we'd reverse it, especially after my grandparents moved back to Puerto Rico and my dad moved states. So then it was my grandfather making some version of the Italian feast of the seven fishes: https://en.wikipedia...he_Seven_FishesUsually a modified version, just a big, symbolic seafood meal. My grandpa sometimes bought each of us a lobster instead of doing a full thing. Then we'd have Christmas day with them and my aunts and a lot of food.

 

These days, the holidays are much, much more modest. Just me and my mother sometimes. Though due to me being freshly out of the hospital in 2012 and unable to travel due to medical appointments, my mom being in the hospital in 2013 and 2014, this is actually our first Christmas together since 2011. Now to try and find a few more ingredients to bring along with me and I'll be off.

It's just me and my mom for Christmas. She's German so she usually makes a German dish for Christmas dinner, but this year we decided to just have stuffed bell peppers and cheese cake for desert. lol...not very Christmassy, but oh well..it will be yummy!

 

It snowed here today so it does indeed feel a lot like Christmas right now.

We are on day four of snowfall! So we have a very White Christmas this year. It's just me and the kids this year, usually it's a huge family get together so the quiet has been both nice and odd. Probably why I'm still trying to get stuff done on Christmas Eve!

 

He has pale green eyes but they look gold in that picture. He's fairly tolerant of a small amount of dressing up, a collar, and a hat, but only for a short time. He's the only cat I've ever had that would tolerate such a thing.

That sounds really pleasant and cozy. I was able to get an eggplant and some cans of tomatoes and beans and ricotta, so I'll be able to make what I want. I told her I'd make it for her one day. One thing I miss about living in different states now is cooking for both of us and sharing meals, since we both like a lot of the same things.

 

It's the opposite of snowy over here. Just went to the supermarket and it is hot and humid. It rained earlier so everything is wet and I wore just my Solas t-shirt (I just happened to pull that one out of the laundry bag - Christmas elf indeed) and a really thin cardigan I figure I put on for the bus ride in a bit. I packed a heavy, fleece-lined hoodie for my return home since it looks like it will be in the high 40s then.

Merry Xmas everyone!! (Just finished my xmas dinner lol and now chilling in bed..).
I know all we want for Xmas is more Solas in our lives.. I hope this wish comes true!

By the way.. all this talking of Solas walking sexy and prancing etc is not helping me fall asleep!!!

Anyway thought I'd share something funny / weird that happened yesterday.
I'm at my bf's mom house and it was a bit cold yesterday so she gave us extra warm fluffy soft long plaids to use as quilts to sleep. So I rolled the thing around my body somewhat very randomly, and laid down under the covers to sleep.
I immediately felt nice and for a few seconds I had this feeling that something was familiar..like it wasn't the first time I had felt exactly like that.. dunno how to explain the feeling..
Anyway thought about why it was, and I realized that the thing I had rolled around my body was in the same exact position of the wolf pelt Solas is using in Trespasser.. it was around my shoulder and it went down diagonally to in between my legs.

I don't know if it's more worrying that I subconsciously rolled that plaid in that exact way without realizing it, or that I actually FELT that it was familiar like I had done this before (which I never have!!!).

This obsession with Solas is getting so out of hand for me it makes me do / imagine weird things!!

I better go to bed now before I lose my mind >.>

I've started working on that Merrill tarot, after the last couple of weeks before Christmas I was secretly working on a Dota 2 image for my brother-in-law.

And guess what I got! Someone was going to just throw away a collectors edition of DA with the tarot cards o.o, so I got them! Aaaand I got WoT:2 at midnight on Christmas, spent a few hours reading before bed.

It's utterly weird that it was 71 degrees F at home for me. And you're all the way over there in what, the early summer?

 

I need to read further through WoT2. I've read a lot of individual entries throughout, but not cover to cover yet.
