Those theories fit some of what we know but I'm reluctant to let go of the talented Dreamer from a tiny Northern village idea.

I just like it more.

The truth is that these two theories/concept don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive

We don't know in what circumstances Mythal (presumably) "asked him to come", but considering that we know that Solas avoids direct lying, we may assume that he indeed grew up somewhere in a small village. The question is how "growing up" looked like in his time - was it like now; with parents and children? Was it like Cole, where he grows more in terms of personality when he's with Inquisition? Something else?

One of my personal theories is that Mythal secretly raised him as a champion for her cause (be it because he's a talented dreamer or was a powerful spirit) - someone who perhaps she raised in secrecy (no different than Morrigan, yo. That whole "growing up in isolation of wilderness" thing, and seeing how deliberate it is, probably stemmed from somewhere) to eventually help her with either "project Evanuris" in order to unite the elves and win the war, or as someone to either reform or destroy it from within when things went South.

I'm trying to play Trespasser right now but I have a super bad migraine so I'm gonna go lie down in a bit. I just wanted to say I love Dorian and Cole's conversations about Solas and feeling his presence. "Solas would understand."

Cuteness. Did you get a tablet with a screen that you draw on, or a tablet that you connect to a computer and look at the screen as you draw? I think I remember you saying you were gonna go for a screened one cause you didn't like the disconnect of having to look at another screen.

Yep it was me - did this with the galaxy note 2014 edition. Tbh I loved doing it and it didnt feel annoying and "a duty" like it does on the pc

the tablet has potential even without the full range of tools you can get on pc software and I am confident apps will continue improving a lot..

My problem is that I really dont know how to shadow properly.... I can draw nicely if I keep the art line but then it looks too comic-y.. I want it to look more real so it's harder...
Does anyone of you pros have any interesting readings or tutorials to understand where the shadows go or how to make them..? Cause I have no clue so I mostly put them randomly and sometimes they look wrong >.< I feel stupid then

But yes, I will draw a lot more and with more pleasure now

Do you use a pen?

Shadows: it could help if you draw a circle somewhere and imagine that is a light source. So everything pointing out on whatever your drawing behind that light source would be shadowed.

Found some interesting lore last night regarding Avvar, Dwarves and Elgar'nan (TLDR at the end):

The Avvar are friends with the Dwarves and believe they are the creation of Korth the Mountain Father (also known as the Father of the Skies) and live within his realm. Korth's throne was at the center of the world (Belenas) and he could move mountains. 'Other gods began to fear his temper' so Korth spoke to the Lady of the Skies and lifted Belenas from the earth into her realm.

That reminds me of Mythal going into the Deep Roads and the Wellspring with the bottomless sky.

There's also a story of him sealing his heart in a golden cask and burying it in the earth so he would never be betrayed by it, then raising the Frostbacks to guard it. Without his heart, he turned cruel and when it returned to him he became whole again.

That reminds me of the Dalish tale about Elgar'nan and the sun, putting the sun into the void.

The earliest humans (Avvar ancestors) we know about were in Par Vollen and venerated horned beasts (not Qunari), built pyramids that matched the constellation 'Solium' (thought to represent Elgar'nan). They lived there with Dwarves as there are ruins of similar age and architecture to the topside thaig Kal Repartha, which translates to 'a place where we may meet in peace'. That thaig has a verse which also depicts dragons, 'the stone-less sky betrays with wings of flame'. In the Deep Roads, the Dwarves were chased underground by the evanuris and their followers who wanted victory over the Titans, 'Give us victory, over the Earth that shakes our cities. ... Burn the ground under your gaze. Bring Winged Death against those who throw down our work. Elgar'nan, help us tame the land'. The Dwarves probably fear the sun because of Elgar'nan's fire; and as an Evanuris in dragon form, that sums up the metaphor.

TLDR: Early humans had pyramids dedicated to Elgar'nan, venerated horned things, knew the Dwarves who were scared of the sun and horned things, went on to become Avvar who venerated titans (Korth) while having similar tales to Elgar'nan, and have a friendship with the Dwarves who they believe are the children of the Titans.

Chapter 20 on AO3 is edited and posted!

Cara is left behind while Mia and the gang head to the Fallow Mire. Solas thinks she will be safer if left at Skyhold, only Mia and Leliana have plotted to have her help with some war table missions instead. Her first one sees her off to Denerim to help route the Venatori that have infiltrated the palace.

Totally SFW, just a mention of cuddles with Dorian at the end. It will be the same chapter on FanFic, which I'm in the process of posting now.

Cass provided some much needed levity after a very heavy story and ending. Probably especially so for Solas romancers.
