I have been in the "Felassan is tranquil" camp in the past, mostly because I've been itching for a tranquil party member since Origins, but ghost!Felassan is a fabulous idea.

 

Or how about hallucination!Felassan? Extreme stress, guilt, and loneliness cause Solas to have a psychotic break. Imagine the reaction of his followers as he storms about, wildly gesturing, and speaking in Elvhen to an elf no one else can see. Or, a spirit might take on the appearance of Felassan. I toyed with that in my fanfic. It was fun to write . I'm uncertain how this all might fit into a future game though. If Solas is the antagonist we are unlikely to have much insider information on what's going on with him...unless we play a mole in his campaign.

Yes, I also think making Felassan tranquil doesn't sound like Solas, given that he Greatly Disapproves of making Alexius tranquil. It is just that we've been told before that killing a dreamer in the Fade makes them tranquil. Either that isn't completely true or when Solas feels betrayed he throws his principles out the window. It would seem in character for him to disapprove of the Inquisitor exhibiting his own weaknesses or repeating his own mistakes (like using The Rite of Tranquility). Meh. Who knows? 

 

Again, sarcastic ghost!Felassan is a fun idea...I'm just not sure about literal "ghosts" in Thedas. We have spirits who identify with dead people and take on their appearance. They're not really ghosts. One might argue that the people we interact with in the Temple of Sacred Ashes in Origins are ghosts. I'm not sure what those wisps were supposed to be. Maybe they were simply illusions projected magically to serve as a test--not ghosts. I would just be more comfortable with sarcastic!Felassan as another spirit assuming Felassan's identity and form (or as a hallucination). I'm not comfortable with the injection of a literal ghost. If they're not confirming the existence of the Maker why would they confirm a semi-traditional concept of life after death? Really this is just semantics. If all Elvhen possess spirits, then ghost!Felassan and spirit!Felassan would pretty much be the same thing. Solas just needs some sense talked into him by Best Elf.

I really wonder what happens to Human!Cole in DA4? Besides being on the road with Maryden, I mean. I doubt he forgets about the whole Solas thing.

 

EDIT: Though as a human, he probably wouldn't be able to talk some sense into Solas but still, I'd like to see what Human!Cole would do, assuming he'll make an appearance or is mentioned in DA4, that is.
