We still sharing our fanfiction?
If we are then here is an Dalish Origin AU where Mahariel and Tamlen find Solas instead of a blighted eluvian:

Or, well... she knows something we don't yet know.
Sort of makes sense to me that Mythal isn't into the world destroying if it doesn't lead to the vengeance she clearly desires. She has looked out for the world by nudging things, and she is the only ancient elf who actually calls Lavellan one of the People.

And Merrill + clan Sabrae, etc.
So, I just saw this:
What I took away from it:
- Corrie Mae (spelling???) is One of Us.
- The Inquisitor is both Indiana Jones and Captian America, and we all know that they had more than one movie.
- I really like the idea of the Qunari making their own templar order, am surprised they hadn't basically already done this with the mage handlers shown in DA2, and I don't understand how that couldn't have made sense as the reason they were in the deep roads? Especially cus the supercharging of the saarebas makes less sense. Sure, they've never had lyrium before this and now they're being exposed to a lot of it. But mages don't *require* lyrium to exist or function normally, so the "person parched and starved all their lives" analogy doesn't make sense. That's like saying I'm parched and starved cus I don't do heroin. I don't need heroin and it would be horribly bad for me in a huge amount suddenly introduced into my system. (Or any amount, for that matter, obviously). It wouldn't supercharge me.

I thought she was talking about the Blight, personally. Then again, I also tend to assume she has Solas under her control, so...

My point was more that she would not be ok with anyone destroying the world she's been protecting and shaping. Blight, yes. Solas, also yes. I mentioned Solas alone cus this is the Solas thread. lol
It kinda ticked me off when the screenwriter said the point of losing your arm was exactly to remove what made the Inquisitor what s/he is. And the disbanding/keeping choice has to do with the idea that you "shouldn't" be the biggest kid on the block.
When I notice that there is a choice the writers want to nudge the players towards doing, I feel the urge to do the opposite just to give 'em the middle finger.
I wouldn't be surprised if the default world state in DA4 had a disbanded Inquisition.
The default state of DAi actually exists now - you can see it every time you create a new world state. And no - the Inquisition in that one has been preserved (also had IB betray the Inquisitor and she's decided to kill Solas).
Art post.
Okay, first off, a cropped picture of the Solas concept art (by Matt Rhodes I assume?) from the GDC video posted earlier.

Weird. Usually they have that policy of "If they can die, they do." and I'd think the Inquisition being disbanded = dying in that sense.

That was something, too. I mean... don't they have Cassandra say explicitly that (paraphrasing here) while the mark made you special, its your character's actions that makes you the Inquisitor? Back when you first get named Inquisitor after finding Skyhold. And in that video, Jepler says like... the exact opposite? I mean, I'm sure he doesn't mean it as an inconsistency, but it still kinda is one.

Doesn't really matter actually. The inquisitor lost her arm, so she's just some (strong) mortal (who can be replaced). The world isn't in desperate need of her any longer; there is no physical aspect left to back her up. People might turn away (because of that), thus the Inquisition's power and influence is weakened. Lower esteem can be justified by a colorful array of reasons from "invalid due to lost arm" to "head of a once-great-turned-meaningless organization" to "never liked her anyway" because... it's just like that. Same thing as if the Inquisition was destroyed, only a different shade of green.
The existence of the Inquisition is about as meaningless as the existence of the Gray Wardens. Order exists? Fine, then the individual we meet/control is a member. Order doesn't exist any longer? Fine, then the individual we meet/control used to be a member and still followed the vision and/or doesn't even yet know about the disbandment because of a longer period of solitude or something. A few changes to dialog here and there and we're done.
I don't really assume the writers (as one entity, which they aren't even) want to nudge us toward a particular decision. I bet every writer has another preference him/herself. And in the end, for the big story, it doesn't matter what we do. It's only moral choices after all. You believe in big corporations, you keep the Inquisition. You do not, you kill it with fire.

That's generally the BW way. If someone can die then they die. It saves messy cameos of characters new players don't have any reason to care about. So obviously Evelyn is going to try and kill Solas because why would a new player care about any friendship that was between them?
