I've just seen and read way too many amazing discussions and posters on here to ever see this place as toxic. I've seen the trolls as well but those are everywhere. The majority of good is being overlooked for the minority of bad. I have no idea how or why this place got that sort of reputation when there is far worse out there and how even some posters are even happy to see it go.

Anyway, I think the Cyonan's BSN is probably the best and closest fit for the main blanketfort but I loved how welcoming they were at RDF so I'll just post at both honestly.

 

I've seen alot of really horrible comments on here, mostly in threads about Mae or Krem.  So I see where people are coming from when they say it's toxic, and there was a lot of nasty comments when Sera was confirmed to be an LI and gay.

 

I saw Gaider commented on this thread back when it was made and he liked us for being decent.

I have to say I'm pretty proud of being a member of this group of Solas fans. How strange that the most dencent fans who respect the rules and debate properly admire a would-be God who wants to destroy the world 

 

The answer IS pretty obvious though. Solas is NOT a true villain.

Considering doing it tomorrow around lunchtime. Just don't want to jump the gun.
Bsnboards really does look like the best new BSN tho in the long run and obviously its dominating the latest poll.
What do you guys think is that too early? I know some concerns were raised recently about being certain to minimize hassle.

I think tomorrow would be very fair for everyone. I am also for BSN but will continue to frequent RDF too and being a writer and artist, I feel ERC is like a safe haven to escape to occasionally.

Yeah and I've seen that behavior in far more abundance and in far worse ways in other places is all I'm saying. I just feel there needed to be stricter rules and a larger banhammer; especially for some of the same repeat offenders that I've seen get away with posting over and over. Unfortunately I believe the only way that sort of stuff will ever end is leaving the internet altogether.

Anyway, I don't disagree with you about there being bad I just don't like throwing the baby out with the bathwater altogether and lumping this whole place as toxic. This is literally one of the best places to get feedback, read and have discussions, something that just doesn't happen on reddit, twitter, or facebook; which was part of the reason why I enjoyed reading this thread so much. Anyway I hope there are less trolls on Cyonan's forum or I at least hope it will be easier to manage.

It wasn't good a few years ago.  I think overall the chill level has evened out on here(BSN in general - this forum has been really really CHILL) - but the forum CAN be bad like anywhere else. If you were around for DA2 or ME3 it was really really bad.  The things people were saying to Gaider was pretty repugnant and all because DA2 wasn't as good (in people's opinions) as DAO.

 

You'll get crappy people everywhere, but personally I found the most engaged/comfortable here[tumblr has been AWFUL - I will use it only for the vhenantrash satire blog and that's IT].  It's easier to discuss and while I know I rubbed people the wrong way, I could quickly correct course and clarify or at least smooth some of my rougher edges.

+1  Trolls are everywhere, there is really no escaping.  Just have to ignore them and hope the mods take care of it...which obviously wasn't happening for a while in some of the forums.  I think Cyo and the mods over at the new bsn will do a better job of keeping that in check.

It did not - it was just weird and scary **** from fandom people. And i'll leave it at that. But I ended up having to delete my fandom blog. And just making another where I have rid my dash of Dragon Age and fandom and reblog pictures of flower. It's fine for that and the messaging on there is nice. And I'm fine without the Dragon Age stuff all over. I'm kind of overloaded on it.  I need a nice long break.  But I'm hoping for June's return on vhenantrash at least in DA4.  

 

And I do think this is a mistake.  They are scattering their most devoted fans.  Because honestly - the people on here are the most likely to purchase the Collectors Editions, the most likely to purchase the game full price, the most likely to purchase multiple versions of the game, the most likely to purchase stuff off the store. We'll see what they decide to do. It may be resurrected in some form after ME:A.

Been moderating/owning a forum, so I know how much of a BADGUY you can become with people - accusations of favoritism, bullying or censorship can start flying whenever someone even *attempts* trying to smooth things out or deal with worst offenders. And let's face it BW mods and BW itself heard a lot of that as well.

Should be fine. Sure we can stll wait for 1 or 2 days to make sure we let plenty of time for late people to catch up through the confusion, but I believe most of the bsn is headed to teh BSNb now, it's like our spot is waiting for us. Heh, as for myself I'm fine with anything. The discord chan is great to snuggle together in the meantime waiting for the rain to stop, yes dat gr8 metaphor indeed
