Now, I've consulted the wikia and it is unclear to me.

Alistair is hardened and the wikia says no matter what I do, he will insist that he takes the throne and that's it.

If I have him kill Loghain, he apparently takes the throne and imprisons Anora. If I kill Loghain myself, Anora won't marry me.

This true? I'd really like becoming King and having Alistair remain a Warden. ( I don't like the idea of killing Alistair or having him leave the party ).

Allow Alistair to kill Loghain → Marry Anora → Alistair is automatically spared.
(If Alistair is hardened, then he will take the throne instead of allowing this outcome.)

Basically, the only way for your Male Cousland to become king if Alistair is hardened is to recruit Loghain and exile Alistair (or kill him if you're feeling vicious). That's your only option with a hardened Alistair.

If you want to become king and keep Alistair as a Warden, Alistair must remain unhardened, and he must kill Loghain. He will not automatically take the throne if he is unhardened, which leaves the decision up to you.

:(

BUT HE IS MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had known that I wouldn't have hardened him.

Anyhow, it seems I found a mod that allows you to unharden companions.

I will do that.

I know it's cheating, but I can't exile Alistair :(
