Finally getting around to a continuous play through of the entire trilogy and am almost at ME3. My question is whether or not any of the DLC for ME3 is worth the price considering Omega/Citadel are 15$ each and Leviathan is 10$. 45 bucks just seems a little steep considering the actual game is under half of that. If anyone has opinion's on which ones, if any, are defiantly worth the money it would be appreciated. I have liked most of the DLC put out for the series but i just really don't want to pay for another Overloard or a DLC which add's little to the game.

I don't think any of ME3's DLC's are nearly as tiresome as Overlord to get through.

They've all been on sale at some point, at least on Xbox. Honestly, 45$ has always been a bit of a ripoff for the content offered. If you really wanted one, the citadel DLC is the most fun in a cheesy way. Up to you though, since I'm sure some of them will be on sale again.

I should add that it really depends on what it is you want to add to the game. If you're looking for more expansion on the story of the game, then Leviathan is without a doubt the one to get. Omega is pretty light on story, Citadel is a rather huge tangent, and From Ashes is mostly for the character, though I think he adds quite a lot to the game, but that's just me. Anyway, I say Leviathan.

PC DLC is never on sale. Ever. It's exceptionally annoying.

For what it's worth, I like all the ME3 DLC's.

That's what i thought unfortunately, never understood why though. Leviathan and Citadel both sound like ones i would be interested in but does Omega actually have any effect on the actual story at all?

Omega is pretty much all combat.

From Ashes gets you a squadmate, with some alternate scenes that are pretty good.

Leviathan can be spread out, and done gradually. As stated above, it adds more to the story.

Citadel is mostly fan service, kinda cheesy, doesn't really improve the main story. You do get access to the M7 Lancer and M-11 Suppressor, with both kick major ass. They're almost reason enough to go with Citadel.

I just bought them all.  After 10 or so playthroughs, I'd say they were all worth it.

Omega gives you some war assets. I like Aria, so the DLC works for me.

1. From Ashes

2. Citadel

3. Leviathan

4. Omega

-From Ashes is subjective in that many feel that a Day 1 character DLC shouldn't even cost anything now anyway.

-Citadel is subjective in that many don't want something so... 'lighthearted' for a game like this.

-Leviathan is subjective in that many are annoyed that main story explanations/'retcons' are contained in a DLC instead of at least a large expansion.

-Omega is just the least worth its price, outright. I still consider it more of a $10 DLC, regardless of any of its positive aspects. I don't hate it at all; I'm just talking from the pricepoint perspective.

When it comes to my personal preference for DLCs though:

1. Citadel

2. Leviathan

3. From Ashes

4. Omega

And when it comes to the order I'd suggest someone to buy DLC in:

1. From Ashes (due to character story throughout the game)

2. Leviathan (leads up to ending)

3. Citadel (integrates-ish with pace of missions)

4. Omega (almost fully standalone)

~~~
So overall, I guess I'd rate it (if I scored each DLC a point for each place in these lists):
1. From Ashes (10 points)
2. Citadel (9 points)
3. Leviathan (8 points)
4. Omega (3 points)
If you're short on money to spend on all the DLCs, I'd say get From Ashes and either Citadel or Leviathan next.
Bump Omega up in this if you specifically really really love:
a)The combat system of ME3
b)New weapons, War Assets, Upgrades (I think they give the most or 2nd most of all the DLCs?)
c)Aria and Omega
d)Powerful biotics
But if you're more about interesting story experiences, it isn't so strong in that..
I have all of the ME3 DLC, and I can honestly say that I wouldn't want to play the game without any of them anymore. Omega doesn't affect the story, unless the thing you get in your cabin as a result somehow blows your hair back, but it's actually a lot of fun in how it reacts to you playing paragon or renegade.
Omega is more than combat.  It actually has some unique reactions to role-playing decisions, including a class-specific interrupt and a reputation gauge with Aria, along with---gasp!---a non-indoctrinated antagonist. But it's not worth $15, especially considering a few noticeable visual glitches.
Leviathan and Citadel are both well worth the money. From Ashes is sorta overpriced, but Javik is borderline-essential.
Citadel and Leviathan are good, From Ashes seems too integral to the game to judge (since I've not played it without), and I've not bought Omega (although would in the very unlikely event of it ever being cheaper).
For the lore enthusiast: Leviathan. Deals extensively with the origins of the Reapers, their rise to power and provides additional background on their ultimate goal and how they've worked towards it over the millennia. Content-wise, Leviathan is made up of three visually stunning new missions and a new hub area on the Citadel.
Also for the lore enthusiast: From Ashes. Adds a new teammate to the Normandy with as much charm and wit as any beloved BioWare character. Taken on missions, this character provides fresh new insight into the world of Mass Effect seen through the eyes of someone truly alien to it. Want to know how the genophage and resulting political fallout looks to someone without treasured friends on all sides? This is for you. Also reveals an enormous amount of information on the Prothean empire and how they guided the current galactic community in its infancy.
For the renegade/for the combatant: Omega. A solid DLC offering numerous exciting combat opportunities alongside two new temporary teammates as you get some good ol' fashioned payback by dealing a powerful blow to Cerberus on Omega. A chance to spend a few more hours in the company of everyone's favourite cold-hearted ******, Aria, this DLC is light on story but heavy on action. Perfect if you love Aria or hate Cerberus, preferably both. A true renegade can even win Aria's respect if they're willing to be as heartless as she is.
For the fan: Citadel. A tongue-in-cheek adventure with all your favourite friends, Citadel sees Commander Shepard and her allies take a brief shore leave on the Citadel - and wind up going on their wackiest mission yet. It's nostalgic, it's self-referential, it's funny. It's completely at odds with the tone of the main game - and that's awesome. Adds a standard DLC-sized main plot along with dozens of little moments to be shared with all your surviving friends - go battle Cerberus with Jack in the new virtual reality combat simulator, cheer on Traynor in a space chess tournament or take a trip to the amusement arcade with Zaeed of all people. Enjoy one last chance to hang out with everyone before the end.
It really is in the colors.
Green = Fan (ardent supporters)
Blue = Lore (core demographic)
Red = Action (mass market)
From Ashes = Red + Green
Squadmate and Prothian troll.
Omega = Red + Blue
Pew pew madness and Cerberus/character elaboration (extended universe material with Aria)
Leviathan = Cyan (Blue/Green mix)
Makes-ending-sorta-palpable and gives more squad character involvement than most DLCs
Citadel = Everything. Green apartment, Yellow arena, Blue arcade, Red casino, Cyan enemy, and some weird Purple spots too
Yeah Citadel is, for all its silliness, worth the money they listed it for :P
I luvs my colors.
For the record, I regard most of the main game to be primarily Red, tons of Blue, and smaller splashes of Green :)
(DLC all adds much more Blue, some Red, and significantly more Green but still a minority proportion)
Citadel has also the advantage of giving you the Arena, which not only allows you to have some battles with Wrex and ME2 exclusive characters (well, not exclusives anymore...) but in away it provides you with a constant flow of infinite credits if you have the patience to trade prizes in the arena for credits. For those who play on console and have no access to the command list of cheats, this can be quite useful.
If I could only pick one DLC, it is Citadel.
It mitigates how depressing the ending is, and it's entertaining, memorable, and shows an entirely different side of the characters and the Citadel that is unique to that DLC.
The combat mission is fun, and honestly it's the best bang for your buck. You can go back to the DLC anytime you want and play the Armax Arena combat simulator mini game as much as you'd like. All of the other DLCs only last a few hours (1 hour in the case of From Ashes), and after that, it's over.
I'd rank it:
1. Citadel
2. Leviathan
3. Omega
4. From Ashes (I love Javik, but 30 minutes of combat is too little for 10 bucks, and you can just watch all the scenes with Javik on Youtube)
I think you´re being unfair to from ashes.
While the mission only lasts one hour (I think it takes me 40 minutes to play the whole DLC and have the long talk asking all the questions, it´s really quick), the real flavor lies in what it gives to the rest of the game.
Aside from the particle rifle (one of the best weapons), Javik changes the game by being usable in missions, and he also interferes with the story. He interacts with Edi, Joker, Traynor, Liara, Garrus, James... And with characters like wrex, wreav, the prothean VI... Some missions drastically change if he´s present. He has a lasting impact on the game.  For this, I would defend that from ashes is the true essential DLC.
It´s actually an expanded version of what bioware did in me2 with Kasumi and Zaed. They give you new upgrades, new weapons, new bonus powers, a new missions, and also new squad-mates with iteractions during the other missions. Their dlcs are much, much more than just their isolated missions.
I think it would have been great if Bioware had another card in their sleeve and gave you a Batarian as a dlc squad-mate as well in ME3. ME3 had so few characters, specially if you have a save file with Garrus and Tali dead. That´s why Javik gives a lot. Come to think of it, they could have Kay Leng, or another cerberus enemy becoming (brook?) recruit-able after having his or her life spared, like you can do in dragon age 1 with the assassin and loghain.
Omega is heavily combat oriented. It gives tons of XP points, several weapons and upgrades, big assets, but it´s something of a letdown in terms of story.Also, graphically, it seems poor, and it´s filled with bugs.  The visuals are far worse than me2´s and me3´s.
Leviathan is surprisingly good, and it changes a few things during the last conversation near the ending. I did like the story elements, the conversations, the investigation aspects (for a moment, it felt like an adventure game). Too bad that the adversaries are just conventional reaper troops. Leviathan and Citadel have some new enemies. Aside from javik´s, this dlc is my favorite, and while not essential, I would still recommend.
Citadel leaves me with conflicting emotions. A part of me truly loves it and enjoyed quite a lot. But I can only digest it as if it was a Christmas special (it probably would have been if the extended cut did not delay the other DLCs by becoming a priority) or a episode 100, with a very surreal plot and even fourth wall breaks. I always have to play it all on a single day, and separated from the  other parts of the game, otherwise the contrast is astonishing and totally kills the experience for me.
After becoming too much mainstream and losing its way, the series ended with a big laugh. A GOOD laugh, for sure, but I can´t help but accepting it with a sad note of how much the trilogy went downhill after the original. I would still have preferred for it to remain with ME1´s tone all the way, with DK as the main writer.
None of them are worth it. If you must choose get citdal dlc for laughs or leviathan for origin of the reapers.
60 dollars for a game that takes more than 30 hours to complete, and that I will replay several times is totally worth it.
However, 15 usd for dlcs that last less than four hours like omega and leviathan? If they offered 10 to 12 hours I would totally recommend them, but I really think dlcs are overpriced for the short and limited experience they provide. And that´s why from ashes is the best for me, because it has far reaching impact in several aspects of the game (weapon, character, story, interactions)
I suppose they think that true mass effect fanatics are loyalists and will afford the dlcs for that price, with people with only a casual interest will not. Too bad. It would be interesting to see what discrepancy would exist if some dlcs were cheaper. But they never disclose sales numbers. :(
I don't know if PSN Store's Omega DLC is still free or not. That's only if you're on PSN though.
I'd say Citadel is more worth it than Omega. I'm too OCD. If I don't have everything, I go nuts! I bought the DLCs twice. First time, on PS3;and second time, on PC.
Next, you will purchase a wii u with me3 solely for the exclusive weapon.
Oops, I did want to give you ideas.
Well, you´re truly invested. I too purchased all the dlcs, aside from Me2 genesis. But I had any any choice, I don´t know if I would have bought pinnacle station. I inly have it because my me1 is the trilogy version.
