Marketing needs to step it up. You're supposed to hype people on the game, not the other way around.
Are you referring to the paragraphs about the characters on the official website when you say blurb?

yeah i think he/she/it is referring to the DA twitter ones, the "quick introductions".
personally i'm alright with them, I'd prefer it if they did the quick intro's and the Q&A ones in the same day but i guess they just want to drag it out as much as possible because they don't want to give too much info on the game before release.
I agree. Some character blurbs (Iron Bull's lines in particular) are really cringeworthy.
They give insight on the character which is always welcome, i find them interesting.
I dont see the big deal in not liking them, its not like these are the only pieces of information we're getting, we have much more to go on

In reference to the images yeah. The interview for IB was pretty decent though.
I still haven't figured out how the grammar is supposed to be working on Iron Bull's.
But then, Vega had grammar issues too. (Where is the Krogan? Where is the meat?)
The definitely don't present themselves as well as I think Bioware (Who completely understand the context in which the quotes are pulled from) believes they do.
What they need to do, in order to get an unbiased (Less Biased actually) opinion, is hit the Streets of Edmonton, slap a random person in the face to get them good and angry, then show them a character quote intro they intend to release and ask if it makes sense.
Aside from Vivienne and arguably Sera, I doubt any would pass that QA.

Yeah, but the first impression is always important.
Remember that we are in the post DA II world. Everything BioWare do will be nitpicked to death, deservedly or not. Marketing can't be that uncarefully.

Just to nitpick your request here, you're officially putting Bioware in a no-win situation.
Hype the game, and people complain it's overhyped, now we have people asking for more hype? Where does it end world?
Gotta love how BSN complains about everything, even still photos. Any suggestions on how to make photos a lot better for marketing purposes? You seem to have it all figured out and the marketing department is clueless. If you're wondering more about the characters they've revealed details and you'll get videos later. I don't see the issue. The marketing machine gets oiled up the closer to release a game gets. Is this your first game?

Wow. The OP didn't even mention the photos and you're going on a tirade about them? They're talking about the one liners that the characters say, that not only sound cheesy (subjective), but are also grammatically incorrect in most of them (objective). Not only that, but some of the pictures that have been released ARE something to complain about, since a couple have random floating bodies in them and one of them with Solas has his hands phasing through a rock.

The OP didn't exactly elaborate on what they were complaining about so I just assumed he/she meant the marketing on the Twitter photos since one was released today. The point still stands, the OP makes it sound like they know marketing better than the people who get paid to do it.
Wait, does that mean the quotes? or is there something else that im intentionally avoiding?
The one liners included on the "Meet The X" images I can totally forgive--those are spoken English and thus are kind of exempt from perfect grammar. But I do agree that the character blurbs on the official site are pretty bad, overall the language and punctuation is clunky. This is my first time being so involve prior to a game's release, so I hope those kinds of things will get better closer to Oct. 7th.

They get paid to do it. They aren't very good at it. Bioware used to do a decent job of this:

ahh yes, the ME2 character trailers... now that's how you introduce a character AND get people excited about meeting them.

Um... Those are both grammatically correct sentences, so I fail to see your point.
Bull's quote had no grammar issues, and Sera's was only missing "if".

doubt it, DA:I isn't as focused on the companions and their importance like ME2.. it's more about the Inquisitor and the Inquisition.
