Yeah, I agree they're terribly cheesy, but part of it probably cause we don't know the context of whatever jokes they were pulled out of.
I think as they are they serve their purpose well enough as a casual introduction to the characters. I'm not too concerned about it since I'm pretty certain we'll see more of the companions in the future before release.
The marketing has been pretty awful in most instances. So many images and videos made to promote the game have obvious and ridiculous clipping issues, the characters' faces keep changing and getting progressively uglier in most cases, the blurbs about the characters as they're being unveiled are cringeworthy, and the demo for E3 held back all of the most interesting and unique bits for closed-door showings.
Everyone's gotta be a critic.

The only thing I think is dumb is Iron Bull's hashtag. That's just gross.
Or maybe my mind is going places not intended. *shrug*
Tbh I don't like the marketing either. They do something then they drop it then they repeat that mistake and so on.
I liked the idea of follower friday much more then those blurbs.
