Countering Immunity on Hardcore/Insanity difficulty?

Anyone have any tips for this? It can get quite ridiculous at times. I'm just glad the Geth don't have this ability or else the main missions would be impossible.

Don't hold me to it, but I believe Warp cancels some of the Immunity. Wiki seems to agree with me.

 

So yeah, Warp everything you can.

 

Other than that, no idea, sorry.

Biotics in general will counter Immunity.

 

Lift and Singularity from Shepard, Liara, and.or Kaidan to disable enemies while they are still on health will prevent them from activating Immunity. Throw and Stasis also works, although Throw does not disable them for long, and Stasis is not really that good unless you have Bastion specialization on Adept/Sentinel Shepard so you can damage enemies in Stasis.

 

Warp will weaken enemies, so Warping enemies with Immunity will nullify some of the damage protection Immunity provides.

 

Tech powers are terrible against Immunity (and terrible in general in ME1). Neural Shock on enemies will disable them for a short time, so you can use that on enemies before they use Immunity.

 

But Lift and Singularity (and other biotics) are your best choice, and best used before enemies can even pop Immunity.

 

Then shoot them with a really good pistol (Marksman is awesome) or Assault rifle to kill them as quickly as possible.

. I started my seventh playtrough of ME-1 yesterday. I was looking at my achievements. I found out that i never played on hardcore. I feel so embarressed. ME-2 and 3 has always being played on hardcore or insanity. So i automaticly assumed i have played me-1 on hardcore. But that aside. Is hardcore the same as insanity ??

Poison works well in chipping off the health of anyone using Immunity. Have a squadmate use a gun equipped with Polonium rounds.

No. After Hardcore comes Insanity.

. Thank you. So beating hardcore unlocks insanity. So two playtroughs. I am playing hardcore now. I start from scratch.

I know this thread is a little bit old but, if I remember correctly a sniper with sledgehammer rounds is pretty useful.  If you lift them and then shoot them with the sledgehammer round it usually sends them flying across the map.  By the time they make it back the immunity is worn off.  Even on Aherns mission in Pinnacle Station it is pretty useful to at least keep them flat on their back until the immunity wears off.

Yeah, basically you want to ragdoll them before they hit Immunity, so they can't activate it.  Lift and Singularity will be the go to here.  If they have already activated it, I try to ignore them if possible and focus on a target that hasn't activated it, if feasible.  If you have only a couple targets left, then try to stack debuffs on the target with Immunity (Warp, Overload) to allow you to burn through it a little faster.

 

As above, Tech Powers aren't a huge help otherwise against "organics," which make up the bulk of the side missions, maybe with the exception of Neural Shock and even Damping to briefly stun them, and Overload for some shield damage and damage taken debuff.  Usually you just need to kick down the door of the prefab and cast a quick Lift and Singularity to open up the fight so you have some targets that can't hit Immunity.

 

The last thing is that you just have to accept that fights against organics are going to be a bit tedious and take a while on the higher difficulties.

On my last playthrough as an engineer(operative), I would say that sabotage is pretty close to OP against synthetics and organics(not thorians or rachni).  If they can't fire their weapons, that is pretty close to a lift or stasis in my book.  The aoe is pretty large too if I remember correctly so it fairly easy to catch several units with one sabotage.  It does damage, damage over time, and pretty much renders their weapons useless until they can be killed by other means is all pretty good.

Yes I like Sabotage as well, it is probably my favorite tech power.  If we are talking about Organics specifically, it doesn't prevent their power spam or prevent them from casting Immunity though, and it is very dangerous to use against Krogan unless you are a late game Soldier with high DR armor. :)
