It seems like those were put into Sebastian/varric's spec to give them more archery centered abilities. But then that made their archery have more then hawke did. which seems pretty stupid.

1) in Da2 it was just "bow" there wasn't different types of bows. Im not opposed to different types but i think its still just "bows"

(snip)

Technically, they had shortbows and longbows, but yeah, crossbows were gone.

It would be cool to see bows and warbows.

Bows would work normally while warbows would be the greatsword equivalent in that its slower but much more powerful while also being faster than crossbows

+1 for Daikyu!

I see there is the design(and name) for short bows but on the stats there's nothing that indicates any difference. I mean in dao there was a specific weapon type for short and long bows, and that effected range(maybe other things too). Whereas in da2 I see absolutely no difference except appearance(and name).

Quivers will be the game I'm sure considering Sera is shown with one in the kit. In the original DAII demo if you equipped a bow on a rogue a quiver doesn't appear either so they're probably adding that later or the demo they showed was an old one where they haven't implemented quivers on archers yet.

Concerning Archery, I do hope their usefulness and skills are upgraded awesomely, one of my planned playthroughs was playing an Archery FemQuizzy and respec Sera to daggers so they could romance and be badass together.

From the gameplay vids of Sera, it looks like there's some form of manually aiming with bows. That's all I really need for archery to be a success.

I didn't even think about manual aiming, that'd be pretty rad if Archery suddenly became a third person shooting experience o.o

Wait ? There is manual aiming ?

Oh please let this be true. Please let this be true.

Please also let it be true that we can aim in special areas and get different damage modifiers.

I don't think there is "manual" aiming... you can point at specific body parts on the bigger enemies it seems but I don't think its manually aimed.
