Ori and The Blind Forest shows a spectacular level of confidence. Ori and The Blind Forest is a rare realization of fantastic design and production values in a space where I wasn't expecting to find it, displaying a spectacular level of confidence in what it is and what it does. And here's where we come back to wishing I hadn't reviewed it as quickly as I had to. It's a game that provides so much to explore and appreciate, and I would have liked to have taken just a little bit more time than I was able.
The praise is being echoed by nearly everyone. This is great news.
Ori's not doing anything new but its doing some classic things really well, and I'm glad that is being appreciated across the board.

Is this one of these games that's going to make me cry at the end?
I bet it is.
I really bet.

Yeah, probably. *hugs Sim tight*
By the way, the soundtrack/score is on iTunes, Amazon, you know the places.
I bought it a day ahead of the game's release(as in I bought it a few minutes ago). I won't listen to the songs until I beat the game and I won't read the song titles in case of spoilers, but I know from the music I've listened to already in trailers that this soundtrack is going to blow me away like Journey's soundtrack/score did.
$10 for 32 tracks.
A customer already reviewed the soundtrack on iTunes, giving it a 5/5

I had never previously heard of Gareth Coker but this album is beautiful. It is a stunning piece of melodic poetry. I find this deeply moving, and would recommend a full buy. This is incredible.
I imagine this is the part where I look towards my future self post-end game and say "SAAAME"

Here I thought I'd be missing out on MS's exclusive games this gen, but no, they're all coming out on PC too. I'm surprised MS is doing this since it obviously greatly diminishes the value of their console.

I wouldn't say that. The biggest difference between a console and a PC is the form in which you'd like to enjoy your entertainment. Ease vs Utility. It'll always have ease of use over PC, and PC will always have more opportunities to utilize features as compared to console.
The games coming out for both of them is a GOOD thing. I say that as someone who hasn't PC gamed in ages;the more games are shared amongst different platforms, the more united the gaming community can become.
Exclusives are silly when the gaming industry does just about nothing to curtail the toxic competition between fans. The only competition should exist between retailers, between publishers, between developers, etc etc. Consumers should all band together;thats whats best for gaming.
I'm all for seeing games spread out to more people. If that means Xbox exclusives make it to PC as well, then YAY! I get to talk to more people about how much a game rocks or how much a game disappointed me, hahaha.
So I think the One is fine even though the game has a PC release as well. Hell it'll have a 360 release too down the line. This means more eyes on the game, more of a return on the costs to produce it, and in turn more attention to a well deserved team and product.

The composer of the soundtrack(Gareth Coker) made a Spotify playlist for it. Want to listen to it in its entirety for free?

I'm excited.
Its funny how a $20 indie game is getting all the love in the world for its beautiful art style and aesthetics, its emotional storytelling, its 8-12ish hours or so of game time, and yet it wasn't that long ago that a $60 AAA title managed to screw all that up. hahaha
I'm excited too. The achievement list is out, and a couple of those achievements seem like right bastards to get.
One is to complete the game speedrun style in less than three hours. YIKES. That'll take a second playthrough and some research.
Another is to complete the game without a single ability point spent. WHHHHHHY
Even harder, one is to complete the game without DYING. *internal screaming*

OH *expletive* that gives me an idea!
If you want I can stream it on Twitch so you can watch me play the game live! I won't be talking or showing my face since I wouldn't want to kill the vibe of the game but you can at least catch the gameplay as it happens.
Let me know if you're interested. I usually watch people game on Twitch if I can't play a game myself and I don't actually stream unless I'm messing around, but if you really want to check it out, I'll give it a whirl.

That one track called "Calling Out" reminds me so much of Thomas Newman's work... so beautiful. If this game is anything like Journey, I know I'll love it, so I'm really looking forward to this title.

Well, I don't know when I'll actually play the game yet. It releases tomorrow but I may be out for the day in New York City(visiting folks and such). If I stay at home I can stream on launch day, if not it'd probably be the day after.
I got no idea what I'll be doing mañana, so I'll figure it out. Either way, my twitch channel is http://www.twitch.tv/lpprince

ARGH, I bought the soundtrack and obviously know of the Spotify playlist but I'm refusing to listen to any songs not used in the trailers until I hear them within the context the game provides.
*bites bottom lip*
Glad to hear its good though!

If you follow the channel I believe you can opt in for email notifications of when I'm streaming. That should help. That way we don't have to jump thru hoops. hahaha

I disagree. It may have convenience over PC, but not ease of use. You admit you haven't played on PC in a while, so I'm assuming it's been a while since you've used Steam, or maybe you've never used it at all. I can assure you that my process of playing games on PC is no different than yours on the Xbox; I download the game I want to play and start playing. It's that simple now. Updated video drivers uninstall older ones during installation, it's almost a hands-off experience.
It may be a good thing for you, but I have friends who own an Xbox One who are not happy about it because, whether you recognize it or not, it does diminish the value of being part of the Xbox brand. It means owning a One and a capable PC makes little sense. Sony has the advantage here because their exclusives games really are exclusive. They may show up on the Vita at some point, but it will be years before it happens.
It's not the industry's job to moderate it's customers on message boards and the like. Exclusives exist primarily to move consoles and make people who are on the fence more inclined to support their side over the competition. I would love nothing more than to have Nintendo games on my PC without having to emulate them, but alas, Nintendo is stubborn and keeps all of their games exclusives to their consoles. If I want to play Nintendo games, I have to buy a Nintendo product, and that's exclusives in a nutshell.

Anywho, if I'm over at MoonStudios right now I'd be really happy with the universal acclaim from critics. Hoping that translates to the gamers too.
