Character creator. I could spend all day playing around with it. In real life, I'm not a vain person but in video games, its all about the look and less about the stats.
The most shallow thing you are/are not looking forward to seeing in DA:I?

Spending 8 hours contemplating whether or not I'm satisfied with my character's current cheekbone-jaw proportion.
Fo real though! That's me every Bioware game!

I am interested in seeing all the party banters between companions and the Orlesians balls.

Speaking of the character creator, I'm looking forward to seeing how closely I can get a human to look like me. My Hawke was "good enough".

No no, that's the DLC. For only $9.99 (US) on Origins!
I kid, I kid.

Maker. well, i hope in DAI there will be enough stats to keep me interested in the franchise. cuz look doesn't impress me if there is nothing else there. character's or graphics in general.
on topic:
most shallow thing i look forward to - changing ecosystems. if i cannot exterminate NPCs i'll exterminate bears in this stinky forest at least!
most shallow thing i don't look forward to - glowing, fast-paced combat visuals. ugh

This! I'm really looking forward to the character generator. Hope it's better than Mass Effect's...Shallow? ... Spending way too much time trying to get a character I can stand looking at for the entire game in the CC only to load up the initial part of the game and realize that I really don't like her after all ... so I quit and start all over again ... numerous times before finding something I like.

Looking forward to:
-Naming my horse Eisenhorn.
-Asynchronous facial tatoos.
-The smug feeling when one of my crazy ideas about the lore turns out to be true.
Not looking for to:
-Going through the entire game without being able to make my Inquisitor say "the end always justifies the means".
-Confronting the reality that since Morrigan's godchild does not exist in some playthroughs, s/he cannot be a central plot point. My Warden is the only one who should count! ![]()
-The possiblity that all of my crazy ideas turn out to be wrong. I've got enough of them, at least one should be right.

This. Making my character is definitely one of my favorite parts of any RPG. ![]()

Seriously, I just want to ride that thing into battle, while listening to Gloryhammer's "The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee". ![]()
Most shallow thing I'm *not* looking forward to? No mod support. Buuut then again, I'm sure people will figure something out. Modders always do. ![]()

Shallow? Hopefully riding around on a pretty white halla as a Dalish elf. It's utterly meaningless but oh how I will love doing it if we can!

To be honest....I love character creators, it's really great to have the possibility to create your character.
But usually, I'm so hyped to get the game started that I just jump in with the standard model ![]()
That happened to me with ME1 and ME2. Just used Sheploo. Of course, on subsequent playthroughs I created my own characters (or stole them off the net xD), but I never spent too much time on it...
One of the things I enjoy most in Bioware games is the banter/character relationships (not necessarily romances), so yeah, banter. If you'd see that as shallow. Which I don't think anyone around here does, but I can't think of anything else now ![]()

Yes, serious lol.
Dragon Age Origins, I ran around without the helmets because there was no toggle option. Also mage hats are silly.
Dragon Age 2, I held onto a chest piece longer than I should have simply because I liked the way it looked versus the stats.
If I'm going to be staring at a character for many, many hours, I want to look good, simply put.

I feel your pain! I spent most of Skyrim obsessively switching between my armour and my "casuals". Realised it was getting silly when I started changing my character's outfit just for sleeping. But really, how can you expect to get a good night's sleep in full armour?
I do have a problem with over-identifying.

One of the main things I complain about with Skyrim vs Oblivion is the lack of cute clothes. I can't wait when I get the new computer in preparation for Inquisition and get to get a PC copy of Skyrim and thus access ALL THE CLOTHING MODS.

Absolutely! I got so excited doing the side quest for the clothing shop in Solitude because I thought I might get something good in return. BUT NO. "Fine Clothing", ie, "Sack With Fur Collar". Uhhh....thanks?
