Space Invaders and Gorf. Incidentally, I still have a functioning Atari 2600.

Of later games, definitely Master of Orion 2.

16-Bit was my heyday. I get veeeery nostalgic about Secret of Mana. Megaman X was also a big one. Kirby Super Star brings back some good memories. Flying around in Star Fox makes me all tingly.

DIAAAABLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Smash Bros. and Banjo Kazooie were the big ones for N64, and naturally I got a kick out of Ocarina of Time.

Besides Mega Man and Mario 3, I wasn't as big into the NES generation.

The only old school games from the 90's that I'm very fond of. I haven't really played many games as a kid.

So anything before 2000...

North-and-South-Amiga-Menu.gif

North & South was awesome.

Unreal, Doom 1 & 2, Wolfenstein, Monkey Island 1 and 2, Prince of Persia, Gods, Lost Vikings, GTA 1, Lemmings, Micro Machines V30, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 etc.

Few great 3D games, but mostly amusing 2D games.

/facepalm how could I forget about Monkey Island? Those games are gems of the Lucas Arts division of PC gaming in the 90's, oh and Doom was great I sucked at it but it was great none-the-less.

Anyone remember Oregon Trail? Number Munchers? Midnight Mystery? Had to play all three of those during keyboarding/computer time back in grade school.

Admittedly I don't remember too many old school games off the top of my head, though I'm sure I had plenty of favourites as a kidlet. The ones I can remember off the top of my head, though?

  • Diablo
  • Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
  • Final Fantasy VI
  • Frog Bog
  • Quake
  • Rampage
  • Snoopy: The Cool Computer Game
  • Spy vs Spy
  • Star Trek: A Final Unity

In no particular order:

Jagged Alliance 2

Metroid & Super Metroid

Planescape: Torment

Star Control 2

Chrono Trigger

Rise of the Triad (1994)

The Guardian Legend (an obscure game for the NES that combined Zelda and shmup elements)

The Curse of Monkey Island

Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness

Tyrian

Raptor: Call of the Shadows

There are a lot more, but that's all I can think of for now.

Oh god. This could take a while and I'll probably edit it a million times as I remember things but off the top of my head:

  • The Colonel's Bequest
  • The Dagger of Amon Ra
  • King's Quest 5
  • King's Quest 6
  • Space Quest 4
  • The Last Express
  • Planescape Torment
  • Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers
  • Fallout 1
  • Fallout 2
  • System Shock 2
  • Blood
  • Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
  • Super Metroid
  • Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen
  • Soul Reaver
  • Zork Nemesis (I love the rest of the series too but Nemesis nailed the sort of gothic horror I adore)
  • Super Mario Bros 3
  • Doom
  • Wolfenstein 3D
  • Rise of the Triad
  • Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Final Fantasy 6

There's no rhyme or reason to the above list as far as placement goes. Just games that I've adored for a long time. :)
