I'm just stopping in to remention that I'll be away all weekend for the most part. I'll be able to check my pms and email about once a day, but other than that I'll not be back around till Sunday evening. ![]()

The good news is that I survived yesterday. The bad news is that I have to do it again today. I'm hoping that I'll be around this evening, but I may just pass out instead.
Thanks for the well wishes. ![]()

Not exactly a vacation, more like a clarification. These days I'll be very busy with my assignment for the college because my deadline is on next Monday.Apart from that,we may also have some some trips for excavations etc if the weather is good enough,so chances are that I might not be able to reply as often.
Again sorry for the inconvenience.

Excavations? Are you studying archaeology? How cool is that!
Good luck on your exam. We're in Narrative Mode right now, so no worries about keeping up. ![]()

This isn't really a vacation announcement, but a bit of a head's up, maybe. ![]()
My baby brother's coming to visit me for a couple of days (He's going through some sh!tty things), so I may not be stalking the board as much. If I am seeming to miss something, someone ping me on twitter, or on Skype, yeah? ![]()

Of course. Do what you need to, Brambleface! ![]()
Just as a heads up, tomorrow is going to be a super busy day for me (I have a two hour meeting in the morning, then I have to do an agency tour for our trainees, then I work a full shift) so I will be going to bed early tonight and won't be around much tomorrow. ![]()

I will be away Friday evening (10/24) and most of Saturday (10/25).
And I will likely be completely offline for all of October 31st. I'll be back on the 1st, though. ![]()

I guess most of you lot will be busy for Halloween anyway? Too bad it's hardly a thing over here... I wouldn't mind another excuse to dress up
(and I skip Carnaval... that's all about getting drunk and music so horrible that you want to get drunk so you care less... Oh, and everyone is having the flu the week after)

That's a religious day for me, lady.
(Although it will end with a fair amount of getting drunk, maybe.

A religious day? What do you mean? ![]()

Posté 23 octobre 2014 - 09:52
It means October 31 is a day also called Samhain (It's Gaelic, that) and it's basically the end of the year/beginning of the next as we move toward winter. ![]()
~Bface may or may not be a bit of a pagan. ![]()

It's a time of changing seasons, and a lot of people in the US, both secular and religious, celebrate it as such. In the Catholic faith, it's a time to honor departed family members. Mexican-Americans hold quite a lively celebration. Even those of us who don't practice orthodox Christian beliefs sometimes feel the need for that, as well as the need to let go of the old to make room for the new. Some people even mark it as the start of a symbolic new year.
Plus, it's fun to dress as ghosts and pirates and beg candy from our neighbors. ![]()

Ah, of course! I missed the connection to the celtic calendar. And I am aware of the 'day of the death' for the Mexicans, I just... couldn't make the connection at that time, sorry
The only days of the calendar I can remember is Mabon, because that is around my birthday and Yule (and as I am not a Christian… I skip the ‘Christmas’ part and just go for the ‘spend time with the family’).
A friend once described me as 'non-practicing witch’ (he’s a witch himself)… I guess that was actually quite close, to be honest. I hardly ever do anything regarding rituals, but the things I believe in are quite matching with paganism.
Anyway, have a good time! The one time I got someone over for 'trick or treat', there were some 15, 16 year old kids... Actually, they didn't trick or treat, they just asked for candy, so I basically told them to 'f off and go to the supermarket' ![]()

Just wanted to let you all know (thanks to Bramble for reminding me; I'm scatterbrained lately) that I will be out of contact for a while, November 11-November 20. I'm going to be moving my household across the country. ![]()
Bramble or Berelinde, feel free to roll for Rhys at any time it's needed. He wouldn't want to let the team down. ![]()
