It's inevitable that the game is coming so they might as well open a ME4 forum now. It means it will be prepared and ready for when more info does start to flood in.
It is time for a Mass Effect 4 forum

I agree, it stops us cluttering a somewhat past-games forum. I know currently its all speculation about this/that but thats why the mods have the abilty to split where specific topic and posts go

Yeah, lets make a new forum section because of a 2 minute vid in which some guys talk about their feelings.
And dozens of tweets about ME4 along with a few official posts in this forum by members of the ME4 development team in Montreal.
Yeah, all they talked about was their feelings... about Mass Effect 4.

And what do you propose they call the new subforum? "Mass Effect 4"? Then someone starts writing about how it conflicts with earlier statements (Chris Priestley's "Calling it ME4 is a disservice"). Maybe just "Next Mass Effect"/"Mass Effect Next" as many fans like to call it? Then some gaming sites will declare that its official title will be just that and it'll create a lot of confusion when the actual title is announced.
They're not holding back on the new subforum out of laziness. So just accept that we won't get it until the game is properly announced and embrace the wait.

Dozens of tweets and posts amounting to... practically nothing.

@Ajensis: Yeah the announcement is most likely happen at Gamescom or N7 day, it would also most likely come with a massive info dump. Though Bioware will most likely wait sometime after DA:I's release to officially announce it.

Would be nice, but I agree that it may as well wait until the official announcement of the game and Bioware provided information gives us much to discuss. otherwise, all the speculation may as well be left in the ME3 Scuttlebutt section.

I'd like to see one, there seems to be a lot of talk about Mass effect 4 at the moment, why not just add the forum now?

They'll give us a forum when they reveal a proper name to attach to that forum
Maybe this winter

They will probably do the exact same thing they did with Dragon Age: Inquisition is wait until they make the official announcement of the game and then open the new forums at the exact same time. If you look the official announcement for Dragon Age Inquisition was September 17th, 2012 and the oldest post on the Scuttlebutt forum is also September 17th, 2012.
I can't see them making any real official statement about a new Mass Effect game until after Dragon Age Inquisition is released either for they don't want information about the two games to conflict or worse be confused with one another and frankly after seeing the current state of "games journalism" I could see people getting it mixed up.

Maybe a general discussion section at some point and then open up other sections when more info comes along. Like BioWare did with the Dragon Age: Inquisition forum. It would mean people don't have to go through ME Next posts to get to the ME3-related posts in the ME3 forum as well.
