I don't have one yet.

The character might start with a little bit of backstory, similar to Hawke or the Warden or Shepard, so I don't want to come up with anything might conflict with that. In fact I'd rather the character had somewhat of an established backstory within the game so that he or she, or companions, will comment on it. I'm not a fan of blank slate Elder Scrolls style protagonists. (I find them a bit boring)

I can't make up a backstory when we don't even know what the game will provide for each race. Sure, we know the elves are dalish, for example, but why they are where they are at the beginning of the story could make a huge difference in how their backround works. Same goes for other races.

I do have some headcanons, but they're rather ambiguous at this point so that they can be easily changed in case they're contradicted by the canon.First I'd like to see things like the CC,the available backgrounds for each Inquisitor etc....

It's far too early to tell at this point. Since Elven Inquisitors have to be Dalish, I imagine that to be the case. Unless specifically stated otherwise, I imagine one of her parents (probably her mom) was a city elf that joined the Dalish before she was born and raised her with stories of the alienage. That way my character can have some city elf values and viewpoints over the game, not just the sheltered Dalish POV.

Father and mother were murdered after a theater production. Inherited millions of gold coins. Relives in his dreams lots of bat related childhood horrors. Personal color preference: Black and darker grays.

Well mine originally started with a city elf, but since that's not possible I'm going to have to alter it...

My Dalish will start out as a city elf from Tevinter.  Probably a slave.  Then something something happens and she's a Dalish now.

My elf is going to oppose the Dalish lifestyle. He thinks they are living in the past and should join the rest of the modern world. He has always wanted to leave his Clan, but he never knew where to go. Now, he has a place to go, and he is happy to be free.

I don't really do headcanon. I'll just go with the option(s) the game presents.

It's a WiP that's subject to some change once Inquisition is finally released. An intelligent Dalish mage who dreams of his people having their own homeland one day. Someone who sincerely believes in the elven pantheon and views magic as a gift of the Creators, who is interested in uncovering the secrets of the past and building a future for the Elvhen, who wants to help the elves in the Alienages and is wary of the shemlen he's spent years protecting his clan against.

I imagine him as having an Antivan skin tone, possessing a serious personality, and being cautious around Cassandra and her Andrastian soldiers because of his past experiences with members of the Order and the Andrastian Chantry. He wouldn't adhere to the Andrastian perspectives of Spirits and Demons, or the teachings of the Maker and the Chantry of Andraste, but he's willing to put aside past grievances to deal with a threat that endangers innocent people. He views himself as one of the People, even if he has to become a member of a shemlen organization for the time being.

I was wanting to play a city elf but when I read that I could only be Dalish I came up with a plan.   It may be that when it is finally revealed how the beginning works, we will be saddled with a background, like it or not, but in DAO even if you were a Dalish, you didn't necessarily have to opt for the obvious speech for a committed Dalish.   So here's hoping.

My Inquisitor is going to be a female elf mage.   She was born Dalish but her family killed by Chevaliers when she was just a baby.   Her mother managed to hide her before she was killed.   A poor farmer, living on the edge of the Dales, whose wife had never had children but prayed constantly to the Maker to be blessed, comes across the scene of the massacre and finds the child.    Not caring that she is an elf, they adopt her as their own.  When she is old enough they tell her about her real parents.  Some years later she is molested by a different Chevalier and defends herself with magic.   She is saved from death by a morally minded Templar and placed in the Circle.   There she learns to read and write and finds out as much as she can about the Dalish from books.   She also meets a city elf and so learns from her what it is like to be brought up in an alienage.   The Circles fall and she goes back home.   She finds her parents have died from fever, which she believes she could have cured had she been there.      So I now have a reason for her to be regarded as a Dalish elf (without their prejudices), but also aware of the plight of city elves and ordinary human commoners and Circle mages.      She doesn't like nobles or their stupid Game.    If necessary I'll add in that she re-establishes contact with a clan of Dalish before the events at the start of DAI.  I'm hoping that whatever we're given works with this.

Skye Adaar: She was circle mage who became apostate when circles rebelled. She strives for both peace and mage freedom which are hard almost impossible goals to achieve. She was in the big meeting where Inquisition starts with other Liberal mages still being much peaceful than majority of her fraction.

Tamarin Lavellan: He has been always bored of normal Dalish life, running around forest and hunting food, that all sounds dull to him. So he left his clan and started looking for better lifestyle. He's bit gold-digger so he saw the big meeting as opportunity and good starting point in his journey to make his life easier. Maybe got into favor of some high-standing dudes or empty some pockets. It didn't end up that way in the end.

Valpur Adaar: Her parents left Qun when she was rather young and they have now died couple years ago. Valpur is currently travelling as adventurer and sword-to-hire. She's mercenary who is used in working and travelling alone. She doesn't mind company though, she's not used to it. She was working as body-guild for a important person in the big meeting while **** happened.

Not really sure yet. It depends on what I'm feeling come October. So far I'm envisioning someone who is pretty pissed off and driven to close the rifts, to hell with (most) everything else.

(Unknown) Adaar was born to a Pair of Tal-Vashoth that retreated far into Orlais to get away from the Qunari. When they had a Child, they tried to integrate into Society, but were shunned even though they abandoned the Qun. They settled on the Outskirts, treated as low as City Elves and were even more antagonized. Their family was dirt poor so it doesn't surprise that the Parents died from a Plague when their Child wasn't even seven Years old. The young Boy grew up on the Streets of Orlais, only knowing that his Parents abandoned the Qun, which was evil. He, however, quickly deduced, that that wasn't the Case - for all he knew, his and his Parent's Life would have been much better if they had stayed in Par Vollen. Thus, he made it his Quest to return there and live a secured under the Qun - made difficult by the Fact that it's basically impossible for an orlesian Street Rat to find a Teacher about the Qun, even if you happen to have Horns on your Head. He eventually made himself a Living and build a Reputation as a Mercenary - a Reputation so impressive, that one of his Clients hired him as a Bodyguard for a very special Peace Conference. And then something happens...

Last parts may change, if the Qunari PC isn't something like a Mercenary or Bodyguard at that Meeting. everything may also change.

Markus Trevelyan

From the noble family of the Trevelyans, Markus was a smart, brave and charming young man yearning for an adventure. He was a master at sword and shield combat so his desire from adventure was inevitable. He loves his two siblings: is younger sister and brother. He values family over everything because that is what really matters. He also values loyalty, order and freedom for everyone. And personality wise, Markus is very charismatic, kind, assertive and charming. He's the noble hero of every story.

Calisfer (Don't know human mage last name)

Mage from the Kinloch Hold in Ferelden who left with a group of his friends when the Nevarran Accord was nullified. He was taken from his family at young age(6) so he resents the circle. Calisfer is a mage that believes in power over everything and that he should always get what he wants. He believes that he will become the most powerful mage in Thedas and will do anything or anyone to get it. He'll sleep with any women(mostly) and kill anyone who disrespects him. He is a arrogant, narcissistic, power-hungry, sliver tongued,  cold ******* with charm. He knows he's an ******* and he loves it. He also can be very fun if you get to know him. He knew the Hero of Ferelden from the circle. Calisfer is very strained of being in locked in the circle tower so he enjoys his freedom and fun and hates templars. He is the Kanye West of Thedas and a lady's man.

Kundar Adaar-He was born outside the Qun in a Tal-Vashoth camp in the Free Marches. He is very strong willed and doesn't let anything stop him from getting what he wants, when he wants it. If your in his way, your already dead. He's believes in an order society with the strong ruling the weak and hates mages. He is very tyranical with power and believes that's the best way to get results. Kundar is a mean, esteemed, bronze killing machine, don't **** with him!

  • IF elf: She grew up among the Dalish, eventually becoming a guardian for her clan, but being more offensive (hopefully can build a two handed tank)
  • IF qunari/vashoth: Grew up outside of the Qun, became a merc and traveled with whoever she is there with before the big boom.

He was born with a beard, and was nicknamed "frizzyface" as a child. (He's not a dwarf btw.)

During the events of the game, he will be known as "The Infrizzitor."
