Tough call. They're both struggling for a better way, and I like that.
Cole isn't exactly new to me since I read Asunder; I feel I have a better grasp of his motivations, so I'll go with him. My preconceived notions tell me they're both gonna have to work hard to earn my trust though.

If im honest, what with the limited knowledge of all the companions we have so far, both are very far down my list, that may change in game though once i get to know them better

I will play a Tank and I usually prefer class-balanced Groups, meaning that I would have three Melees in my Group (myself, the Warrior and Cole) if I took the Spirit.

I'm sure Dorian is a swell guy and a cool character but I'm not feeling mr. porn stache over Cole. It's just that Cole seems far more interesting right now. I shall use Dorian my second time through the game though.
