I'll use all the characters, but...

 

Dorian has a unique perspective, all good, but he also seems like a ton of other characters in media now, and I'm afraid his personality will grate on me. Cole seems different, so I vote -Cole-.

Neither, because I don't like the concept of either of them. One is an emo ghost and the other has do-gooder written all over him. I would have preferred a Tevinter magister companion who is proud of his homeland and his culture, Dorian seems to be the complete opposite, which is quite disappointing.

I've read spoilery things here in the forums about Cole but not read any of the books, so I'd probably go with Cole as he interests me more at the moment.

With my main Dwarf warrior, neither.  Varric will be my rogue, no mage.

 

With my Necromancer, Cole.  He'll be my rogue, Solas my mage.

 

I currently have no planned third run though there will be one and many more after that.  In one of those I'm sure I'd create an Inquisitor who will get some use out of Dorian.

Cole. Ever since I saw that screenshot of him in the big hat , I dunno, I got the impression he's not very outdoorsy XD I have a strange need to drag him around places I have a feeling he won't like XD.

Inquisitor: Hey the clouds are parting! Finally! A bit of sunshine...uh Cole? You ok buddy?

Inquisitor: *sigh* Hold on, I'll equip your sun hat *opens menu*

 

 

Later that evening...

 

Inquisitor: This looks like a good place as any to set up camp. Bull, you get a fire going. Sera I want you to...wait, where's Cole?

 

Sera: oo?

 

Inquisitor: Cole. You know. Your team mate

 

Sera: *Blink*

 

Inquisitor: This high, blonde hair. Doesn't talk much

 

IB: The Templar?

 

Inquisitor: No! *face palm* Seriously neither of you know who I'm talking about? He was JUST behind us! How can you two just forge-0_0 Oh...

 

Sera: What?

 

Inquisitor: Nothing,  one second *dashes back into the woods*

 

Cole: *sitting hunched by a tree*

 

Inquisitor: There you are! Whatcha doin' in the dark all by yourself?

 

Cole: *sniff*

 

Inquisitor: Did you get lost?

 

Cole: *nods*

 

Inquisitor: You sad cos we forgot about you?

 

Cole: *nods*

 

Inquisitor:  You want some ice cream? I can use my frost magic and make some if you want

Dorian because hes so handsome and I hope my feminquisitor can flirt with him and fail; that would be hilarious.

Dorian seems cool, even if he's going to vag-tease the lady Inquisitor all game long. Cole seems like a moody corpse. So Dorian will be in the party and Cole will not be picked up if possible.

Dorian most definitely, maybe as a Li. Cole creeps me out. I will leave him at the base so Dorian can experiment with him

Probably Cole, because I find him interesting and my Inquisitor won't trust him well enough to leave him to his own devices for too long at first.

Of the two based on first impressions, Cole all the way. But since I know virtually nothing about them, that could change.
