Personality ~ Tempest is caring, loyal, compassionate, patient, protective, and optimistic. The word others most frequently apply to her is "sweet." She is not, however, a pushover. She has a will of iron, and a fierce determination - without that, she wouldn't have survived this long. She's also a natural leader and feels more secure when she's in some measure of control over her situation. She is quite religiously devout and finds much comfort in her faith. Tempest has been pretty seriously affected by the traumatic events of her past; she doesn't sleep very much, often has nightmares when she does finally get some rest, and has occasional flashbacks. Her self-esteem and confidence in her abilities are a work in progress.
Appearance ~ Tempest has long, thick, curly black hair. Her eyes are striking blue, and her skin is alabaster. She is of average height, with a slender but somewhat curvy built. She has knife scars on her wrists and torso, and carefully hides them at all times.
Interests ~ Gardening, reading, singing, praying in the chantry, stargazing, spending time with her family.
Background ~ Tempest was a foundling left on the steps of the chantry orphanage in Kirkwall when she was a toddler. As an older child it was discovered she had magic, and she was sent to the Circle. For most of her adolescent and adult life, she was abused by a templar and his friends, and she didn't tell anyone what was happening because the templar scarred her wrists and threatened to accuse her of blood magic. When she was sixteen, she gave birth to a daughter who was taken from her. She was eventually forced to leave the Kirkwall Circle under circumstances she prefers to leave unspoken.
Since leaving Kirkwall, Tempest had been living on the run. She was reunited with her birth daughter Cara, and also adopted two orphaned mage children named Annice and Minnow. Tempest and her three children currently live with a group of other mages who refer to themselves as a Circle, although they have to live as apostates due to the war.
