I'm going to roll an all mage party most of the time so she'll always be in my party. She could end up being really popular still though, her story arc sounds like it will be very interesting

I don't play mages and I'm not all that taken on Solas so Viv is gonna be a permanent fixture in my party line-up. Doesn't diminish her character for a second that she is unavailable to me, she's still freakin' fabulous.

Don't worry, Truffles. I'll always feel like Blackwall stole the Vivienne romance from me now, (no matter how it went down), so it's really unlikely I'm ever going to do him. Even if he is a Sheryl Chee.
Originally I was planning on having BlackWall with me on numerous quests based on the fact that he's a Warden, and I love the Wardens. To me he'd be a much needed info update on what my favorite band of Darkspawn killing misfits have been up to since DAII, but now, oh my god now, he doesn't even exist. I'll recruit him for narrative purposes but the fact he beat out Vivi for a romance makes me automatically despise him a little. He'll be lucky if he ever gets time out the keep. I'm sure he's a wonderful person, but I'll never know, just as I'm sure ViVi would've been a wonderful romance....but I'll never know. So everytime I go on the party selector and pass his Icon/card thingy I'll just be like

Well, for me, Josie (and Sera too) are the kind of people I have as friends. Vivienne appeals to the fact I'm a massive narcissist. She has all my good qualities: beauty, (and then some), ambition, a good head on her shoulders, passive aggressive, while also covering my weaknesses: not being clumsy, good at expressing herself, her passive aggressiveness isn't mostly accidental. Did I mention she's totally perfect for me?

Yea, by far too...unless she plays a huge role in the story which wouldn't be surprising. It'll be interesting to see Bioware's reason for her not being an LI. Varric - Bianca, Leliana - Warden, Cole - Has the mind of a kid you sicko. Vivienne - ?
Her playing a huge role in DAI's story may just be the reason she's not an LI. Of course the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, look at Morrigan. Just saying maybe it's somehow the case this time.

They said there's at least one character you can't get rid of...I had assumed it was Cassandra but here's hoping it's Viv. If she's too story important then that would be great.
Plus maybe she's already romantically entangled with another important character and it's an adorable ship and people will love it.
Or she'll be like Aveline and we all just wish we could romance her so much, but don't hold it against her that we can't.

Plus Morrigan had a lovely friendship. But Miranda! And Jack! To a lesser extent, Samara!

I've always liked the sound of Blackwall as a character, and though I didn't really picture a romance I'll probably give it a shot at some point.
Might keep looking at Viv with the 'it could have been' eyes for a while, but that'll pass. Probably.

If his story doesn't really affect the main quests, I might not recruit Blackwall out of spite
Now that I think about it what if she's already married? In some adorable ship with a fellow mage from her circle? Or a high ranking noble? (Or both, she is Orlesian, she keeps her options open). I hated not being able to romance Aveline but her adorable romance kind of took the sting out.
