Hum....why is this thread snoozing ??? Wake up ! Vivi need Worshipper ! Zap Zap !
On a side note : Vivi also remind me of councilor Tevos ! Now before peoples who hate Tevos cose and cose....jump at me . I mean , tha Voiceeeee . Tevos had the crystaline like voice...so fitting for her position . (In Mass effect 3 is when I noticed it when she call ya to the citadel) . And that styleeeeeeee......feeling raw power while you are wearing a simple dress....vavavoum
Can't wait to meet Vivi !
Well, there are a few reasons why I don't post here all that much... first, I am not interested in flirting with her now that I know she's not an LI, so I don't have much to say about how beautiful she is (and she is...
)... second, they haven't released any new info about her personality/story, so there's not much for me to say that I haven't said already... third, her specialization sounds like it will be awkward in the hands of the AI, so I'm not really that excited about having her on the team (I will probably use her as a basic damage dealing mage, which feels kind of "meh" to me...). All I can say is that I hope the third point proves to be untrue and that she's valuable in combat, because I really do think that she and many of my potential Inquisitors would get along very well... it would be a shame if I couldn't figure out a way to make her useful in fights without nerfing a different mage or duplicating their powers.

The thread has lost considerable activity since the no-romance announcement, which I guess is to be expected, all things considered.
But I think she does share a few personality points with Tevos.

I'm pretty sure too. I hope more people like her simply for who she is, irrespective of romance.

lol... anyway, yes we get to choose her spells, but not her specialization. Knight Enchanter is heavily focused on melee, which I think will be difficult to deal with since she can't generate Guard the way a warrior can. Mages need to rely on Barrier, which is just going to frustrate me since I would be micromanaging 2 melee magess (my PC will also be a KE). So I have this problem of trying to make her useful and unique without selecting anything from her specialization except for the Focus ability. I have some ideas though... I'm sure I can figure this out before Nov. 18th.

Knight Enchanters have the Focus Mega Heal right?
If that is so, she'll definitely be a staple for me in the more difficult fights.

Yeah, there is that, but unless I'm being extremely sloppy, I don't think I'll need 2 characters with Resurgence in a single party...
She has the potential to be quite valuable to my non-KE Inquisitors, however... what class will you be playing as first?

First playthrough will be rogue archer.

Sounds good. Not only would Vivienne have the unique benefit of being able to revive and fully heal the entire party, she can keep your archer safe inside a Barrier. xD

Yeah now that there's limited healing, I expect my party to be in a bubble all the time.

I will be using 2 mages at all times just to be safe, and all mages on the team will be learning Barrier so that I can swap them around whenever I feel like it.

I'll be doing this often as well not only for the combat benefits, but also for the banter between Dorian Viv, and Sera.I will be using 2 mages at all times just to be safe, and all mages on the team will be learning Barrier so that I can swap them around whenever I feel like it.

That sounds like a fun team, but sadly I will need a warrior with me to break down crumbling walls...
I'll have to wait until I'm doing a warrior run to experience that...

I'm going to be a mage. So I'll have either Dorian, Vivienne, or Solas backing me up on most, if not all missions. My Inquisitor is mainly the backup Barrier caster... I'll be having him worry about his own Barrier as the highest priority. but I will attempt to alternate casting as much as possible to avoid the cooldown period.

I don't know... my character is a mage, but he is also a Dalish elf, so this really isn't his business unless the Templars attempt to prevent him from doing his job or returning to his home at the end (which will be his objective until the game says otherwise). I think it would be best to let other humans decide, since it's their nations that will be affected... so at this point I think I will just have him take the advice of Cullen, Cassandra, and Vivienne... I'm sure it's obvious what I, the player, am attempting to do here, but it still fits the rp, so w/e. ![]()

Thanks. I like the idea playing as a Dalish who start off not really knowing much about the human lands, so being thrust into all of this at once will be disorienting. I can't imagine he will have an intuitive grasp of the nuances of Orlesian politics, so he will probably need to be tutored by Josephine until Vivienne enters the picture. In fact, that's one of the main reasons I am hoping to come up with a good build for Vivienne... her personality and background make her a perfect fit for a mentor of sorts, at least in this area...
