It's like working for the Sith you know you're expendable to them, but the benefits far outweigh the cost(at least for me)Why would you trust as a mentor someone who'd abandon you to the templars with nary a moment's thought, if you weren't the Inquisitor?

aww we can't be as stern as you... you need a counter point my friend
A counter point? But you guys already summed it up pretty well... I don't feel like arguing mages and Templars all day. Can't I be lazy just this once? ![]()

But... but... how? She's a vicious cynic willing to abandon her people to horrible fates.
Free you mind, we know you'd want to love Vivienne as we do. You are just waiting for something to change your mind.
I can imagine yourself playing the game till you get to the option to recruit Viv..
Don't recruit her if you don't wnat to.

Inquisitor: Tell me about the Circle of Magi.
Vivienne: Of course. Tell me what you wish to know.
Inquisitor: How did we come to this state, with the Circles in revolt?
Vivienne: You, my dear, are far too wise to have not realized that many of our colleagues live with their eyes closed. Safe inside their towers, they only thought of the Temp...
Inquisitor: Ain't nobody got time fo' dat'.
Vivienne: A Mage blew the Chantry in Kirkwall.
Inquisitor: Thanks.
My Qunari Inquisitor likes it short and to the point.

People tend not to like people who are blunt and honest, which Vivienne seems to be.
I for one welcome people like that, every team needs one, or maybe two.
I have no problem with blunt and honest. I have a problem with selfish callous collaborationists.

Tbh I've got some work ahead of me redoing Vivienne's build now that I'm thinking of promoting her to the main party. I might just have to grab all the cool stuff I was planning to give Dorian and have him rely mainly on zombies or whatever else is in the Necromancer tree...

With the way she says "darling" and "dear", she's reminding me more and more of Emma Frost. This excites me greatly.
I've seen some in this thread and others refer to that as disrespectful/condescending.
I'm honestly not sure why I'd take it that way, but I guess to each their own.

I think it's condescending, and I like her for it.

Hearing Viv's dialogue about Mage and Templars left me pretty ambivalent. I'm not surprised she said any of it because she's pro circle so it was not that big of a deal to me. I'm planning on playing to a pro mage inquisitor but I'm not necessarily foreseeing that many issues working with Viv. I can just leave her at Skyhold when I'm doing things that will lower her approval and companions will not get to know every single thing an inquisitor has done anyways. I think it will be possible to get a long with her without agreeing with her 100%. She also will probably have valuable resources and connections that I'm interested in. I look forward to finding out more about her perspective on magic, also stealing her clothes for my Inquisitrix when i get the chance lol.

Different strokes for different folks. I can understand where people are coming from with the whole "darling" thing.

Eh... I don't really mind. it's going to come across differently depending on the listener's opinion of Vivienne. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I know. I'm actually not worried about it at all.
I think it's interesting how Vivienne is already appearing polarizing. I get the feeling that she's going to be deep on so many different levels.

Well, Vivienne's explanation pretty much goes with what I've been saying since DAII in that while not necessarily against the idea of mages putting up some kind of protest/resistance to get better rights, Anders pretty much went about it in the worst possible way by re-instilling the fear of magic in people. (or making it worse anyway)
I'll probably get along with her anyway.

Lol as if you know what other companions are going to approve of from the get go.
