I don't believe she holds any loyalty to the land of her birth.  Judging by what I have seen of her, she seems like the type who wanted to escape from that quagmire of a country to a place where her talents would be better suited.  Thus, she ended up being more Orlesian than most Orlesians themselves.

 

I don't think she has any loyalty to the Marches either, nor to Rivain, I just meant that her rivals might accuse her of disloyalty to Orlais as a way to undermine her, which seems in keeping with the nature of the Game.

can you provide a source to where she is a marcher, as I was pretty sure she was from Rivian and then moved to Orlais.

Well she kind of has to be, she's thrown her lot in with Celene, therefore it'd be unhealthy for her if Gaspard won the war. But she does have a portrait of Celene in her room, so perhaps there's some genuine respect there.

Just saw this in the Cass thread and felt the need to move it over here.  Vivienne is EVERYTHING in this picture.  She is serving 1980's Grace Jones realness.  Love her.

Regarding Vivienne's titles :- Madame de Fer or Madame Fancypants.

 

My interest here is the fact she is being called Madame multiple times. Madame de Fer, Madame Fancypants, Madame in her own trailer, etc.

 

Now we know that the native Orlesian language is heavily influenced and borrowed from the French Language. 

 

Which means Madame can be defined as :- A title or form of address used of or to a French-speaking woman, corresponding to Mrs.

 

My query is that who could she be married to ? I don't think there is anyone stopping mages in prominent positions from getting married, a good example would be Sebastian and female Mage Hawke, its just their children will be monitored and sent of to Circles of Magi. 

 

Any guesses on who is her husband ? Or perhaps was her husband and he probably died or ran off to join the Mage Rebellion or what have you ?

Actually, there's been sort of a shift in recent years in how the French use Madame.  Many unmarried women prefer to be titled Madame because they do not like that their title is defined by their marital status (and by extension, their husband).  I think mademoiselle is beginning, at least in some places, to be used only for those under a certain age as Miss is in English.  See this article by the BBC for more info.

Yes it seems like Vivienne will be a must for my inital party as i want to storm through combat and see all the story. Everything from her apparent combat effectiveness to trailer makes me more upset she is not romanceable since i am pretty sure i will have her in my party as soon as i get her to the end.

Yep, it's Knight Enchanter's passive called Fade Shield. It allow you to convert 30% of your damage dealt into barrier.

I don't think Elu means in that way.
Also, I wouldn't be sure. In Vivienne's introduction it is mentioned the rebellion wants her to join. I doubt she won't be a leader.
