Oh, I'd love to see a Viv vs Fiona duel.
edit: Damn, her thread isn't even 200 pages? I'm sad.. I feel like I should've posted here more.

I don't think Elu means in that way.
Also, I wouldn't be sure. In Vivienne's introduction it is mentioned the rebellion wants her to join. I doubt she won't be a leader.
Well in one video review.

We will make it 200 pages!
Well, she's the only mage I'm excited to meet and will be part of my main party. Although Dorian is kind of interesting too.

I'm excited to meet all the characters, buuuuut her trailer did get me really Vivienne hyped! I wonder how well she gets along with Morrigan. I would assume they don't have a loving sisterly relationship X)
I can't say the same for myself. I hate some of them already. ![]()
But Vivienne rocks.
I can't imagine her and Morrigan getting along. Respecting each other, yes... but they both seem very Type A. Only room for one.

Which do you hate?
And if there can be only one... well, I'll be with Morrigan.

Iron Bull, for one. I hate the Qunari to the point that nobody could ever win me over about them.
I know he's a bit different, but if he shows any hint of the Qun, I'll happily give him the boot. Cole also already annoys me. I already dislike Anders and Wynne as it is. And Cole sounds worse. I don't care how much good they try to do... I don't like Spirits in this setting. They're kind of like displaced aliens, who don't belong.
They do share a love for magic, jewellery and dry wit thoughHaha yeah. Morrigan is anti Circle, careless about fashion and politics. Vivienne is...the exact opposite X).
Who don't you likemaybe it'll change once you meet them?

But Cole doesn't have any of their personality traits aside from wanting to help people. As for Iron Bull, it seems implied that you can lead him on to leave the Qun altogether.

Sorry, I ninja'ed and gave my reason about Cole. It's more hatred about Spirits.. more out of principle. I don't care how much good they do. They need to go home.

Damn, I hate attitudes like this.
Ah well. I'm sure Cole will do more good than harm.

Haha.. That's fair.
You emphasize doing "good" as something I should care about. I don't necessarily care though.. so I'll just be honest about it. It's not my biggest aim - and not my Inquisitor's biggest aim. He's more interested in making the world a home for mortals. And no one else. I dislike Spirits, out of principle, simply because they go against that. They never want to stay in their place.
I don't want the setting to be more magical or exotic. I want it relatively mundane.
And btw, it's not an anti-mage attitude. If anything, I want to empower mages with this opinion. I want them to be in control of the flow of communication between realms. To hold power over it. Instead of being influenced too much the other way.
edit: Also, if you're a fan of Morrigan, then you'd agree. She's basically the same. Very autonomous and in control of herself. She lets nothing hold sway over her. For a mage, she's very grounded and down to earth.
I don't believe spirits are bad, and Vivienne and I will probably clash there. Spirits only try to help people, and tends to get overshadow by the demons. I mean I get why people would prefer to keep their distance from spirits. Demons tend to disguise themselves as spirit to get what they want, but I feel that inquisition will give people hope with Cole, if they aren't quick to put him to the sword.

I don't think spirits are necessarily bad either. I just don't think they belong.
I also just like reality, as we know it, to be under control. The more spirits gain ground here, the less that's true.

I truly detest anything smacking of the idea that everyone has some kind of inherent place that they have to stay in. It clashes with virtually my entire value system. And I'm mostly a fan of Morrigan, in this context, as opposed to Vivienne.
First it happened in Cole's thread, now it's in Viv's thread.
Hey, these guys just don't deserve your valuable time to engage.
leave some peace for viv's fans.

How is this your value system? Or are you speaking in character? Because as a player, you live in a world without any of this. Our world is governed by the laws of physics and other sciences. Not magic and spirits. You can't build your value system off of fiction. At least, I hope not. Usually it's preschool kids who mix up reality and their imaginary settings. Not adults.
It has nothing to do with any values. You're just preferring one story angle over another one. There is no moral highground here.

Are elves suppose to stay in the forest? Should dwarves stay underground? The spirits we have met seem to only want to do good around Thedas. Vengeance may have not been the nicest spirit, but he was blinded by his devotion to help the mages. Which sometimes passion may be good to some, but bad in others' eyes.

Elves and dwarves are material beings. They deserve more than just the forest and underground.

My value system as imported into the game one, expanded a bit to include the different beings therein.
There are also... well, rather a lot of adults who see magic and spirits as being real. Most of them, I daresay.

If dwarves, elves, humans, qunari, and spirits wants to help make the world better, then it's fine with me. I hope Vivienne will be able to understand that. No need to like someone, but with the same goal in mind, people should respect that.
