There are also... well, rather a lot of adults who see magic and spirits as being real. Most of them, I daresay.

 

I'll give you that actually. My bad.

 

It reminds me of something Carl Sagan lamented. That we see Astrology sections in every newspaper around the world, but rarely a section on Astronomy :D

 

 

In any case, I can respect your real world values, if you mean you don't think people have an "inherent place" - like when it comes to ethnicity and such. I don't think they do either. But I don't apply that to spirits. It's a whole different issue to me. I don't guilt myself on how it sounds like racism or something. I'm thinking more in terms of groundedness and being more comfortable with material reality rather than anything else. And not just that, but being in control of that reality.

Btw are there any non-spoilery impressions on Vivienne and her character? From the reviews Iron Bull, Cole and Dorian seem to be the favourites.

How is this your value system? Or are you speaking in character? Because as a player, you live in a world without any of this. Our world is governed by the laws of physics and other sciences. Not magic and spirits. You can't build your value system off of fiction. At least, I hope not. Usually it's preschool kids who mix up reality and their imaginary settings. Not adults.

Curious what would you say about people who have a religion that includes honoring local spirits, but that same person also is a supporter of the various sciences?

 

As well that is me, my religion, Hellenismos(or greek polytheism) does include honoring nature spirits in addition to the numerous other gods and goddess. While at the same time I love science, and I strongly support learning more about how our world works and the cosmos in general. Yet I don't feel any conflict between my religion and my love of science. Of course I could just be weird, which I am perfectly happy being :P

It is orlais, everything needs to be overdone! I did a whole post comparing orlaisian fashions to french renassiance fashions. both can be summed up as: opulant.

Re-reading The Masked Empire at the moment and I can't help but be reminded of the Madame de Fer herself every time Orlesian fashion is brought up. Those pictures are simply fantastic.

Just turned on my Xbox 360 and whose beautiful face was there to greet me?  Why our sassy Orlesian Madame, that's who!

 

In the center "advertising" screen, it showed a close up of her face with cocked eyebrow and said, "Meet Vivienne the Enchanter in Dragon Age".  The link went to her trailer.
