Nice work, but please remove the abomination (no, not like that) before the avalanche starts.
Ps : Also the original Vivienne is way more beautiful and natural than the false one.
Most re-imaginings of characters I've seen tend to look quite a bit worse than the original, which is funny because the authors usually reflect their 'ideal' version of the character in question. I don't particularly care how others interpret appearances, but it does get questionable at times, like ya know, when they change the skin color just because.
I got rid of the image, btw. Probably best not to keep it in here. ![]()
If people really feel the need to vent and discuss these pictures, I would suggest opening a separate thread.
So Vivienne's outfit, like I said fashion over practicality and fashion has a tendency to be utterly bizarre so I wouldn’t be surprised if armor became fashionable in Orlais for a while.
Saying we don't know anything about the Knight Enchanter specialization is disingenuous. There is a description of it on the official site. It isn't a comprehensive fact-book, but it certainly isn't nothing.
"Among the Circles of Magi, only a few mages have the strength of will necessary to focus their energy inward. Wrapped in protective magics and wielding blades of arcane force, the Knight Enchanters are rare, but inspiring sights as they lead the charge into enemy ranks."
Also, your last statement is false. The fact that there is any evidence at all tells us something. The purpose of this thread, and threads like it for other characters, are specifically FOR the speculation on those characters and to debate what that evidence may mean, even if it ends up meaning nothing.
That, and a good debate is just fun. It isn't like this is a flame war, no one is being insulting. We're discussing and disagreeing like adults.
You're right - we do have evidence. We have the bold statement, "wrapped in protective magics", which suggests that the KEs source of protection in leading a charge into enemy ranks is not armour but rather protective magic. I wouldn't say that this is very much evidence that really gives us a ground to speculate, but I would say that based on the phrasing that it actually supports Viv as a KE.
I didn't mean to come across as rude, and if I did, I apologize. I tend to be very forceful, and sometimes in my writing (with the internet being what it is) it comes across as disrespectful. Again, apologies.
To me, however, this passage tells us very little about the KE. Much of what I see in terms of people's thoughts on the class relate to wishing it is the AW. At any rate, a short blurb amounts to knowing (IMO).
I just wrote a rather long response to the KE argument and the sodding thing didn't post. ![]()
Ok so writing this again ![]()
So since we found out that we have nine specs and nine companions there has been some speculation as to whether these will just be our companions spec. Most (including myself) thought individual trees like in DA2 was more likely. Then we saw E3 and we noticed this.
The Bull appears to be a Reaver in the Demo.
Even more interesting was something that was noticed on Vivienne's tree.
What is this sword and shield symbol? If you look you can actually see that It's not the Spirit tree that is being shown, it's something else. What could that stand for I wonder? ![]()
Now I know it's not the same as the symbol on the website but neither is the bulls Reaver symbol. They could be place holders, it could be different for companions or something else could have changed. We don't know but that icon looks like it's for her specialization in my opinion.
No, we haven't seen her use KE abilities in combat but I highly doubt her spec is "elemental mage" she obviously has abilities we have not been shown yet.
I don't really understand the "it doesn't suit her" argument. It's like you people think a KE has to be some big burly muscular man mage, I expected this place to be a little more imaginative but there you go. The Armour issue isn't an issue if you actually read the KE description." Wrapped in protective magics and wielding blades of arcane force, the Knight Enchanters are rare, " This sounds like Magical protection spells kinda thing, not a heavy plate thing although i am sure you could wear that too if you wanted to. Why can't Viv be Melee? Coz she is girly? Coz she doesn't look like Cassandra? it's not the only way she can fight obiously but I don't see how it's an impossibility for her character.
"Among the Circles of Magi, only a few mages have the strength of will necessary to focus their energy inward." So Knight Enchanter is a skill only the most powerful mages in the circle can learn. Remind you of anyone? ![]()
We have Dorian being descried as someone who uses magic involving spirits and the dead (necromancy?) and Solas seems to have some kind of fade magic abilities (rift mage?). The other specs all fit the other characters well enough, it's a decent theory and it could easily be true but maybe it's not. I just don't think we should be acting like it's a baseless assumption. Vivienne could easily be a Knight Enchanter.

Excellent analysis. I also think there is nothing theoretically preventing Vivienne from attaining KE, But what I find confusing then are the other Iron Bull class trees / abilities mentioned in the thread below:
http://forum.bioware...pecializations/
Any idea if these are class trees and if so how do class trees differ from specialisations?
Also are we certain each companion would have a unique ability / specialisation?
So it's a it different in every game but it looks like it's 4 skill trees plus 3 specialisation trees per class this time.
Warriors and rogues will have two weapon trees and two other skill trees. You pick one of the weapon trees depending on what weapons you plan on using. Warrior will have a one handed weapon (sword, axe, mace) and shield tree and a two handed weapons tree. Rogues have duel wielding and archery.
The other two trees seem to be Battlemaster and Vanguard for the warrior. In DA2, Battlemaster was mostly about defensive buffs to your party Vanguard was about buff to your player that increase attack damage and critical damage ect.
idk what the two rogue trees are.
The Warrior Inquisitor will also get Templar, Reaver and Champion but will only be able to unlock one of them (i think). Specializations are the one's you have to unlock and they usually determine your play style. The companions will probably have one spec each.
All companions in previous DA games have had at least one specialisation but we don't know if they will be unique at all and if so how unique.
Sorry I am struggling to explain this properly.

I'm actually starting to think it might be a mix of DAO and DA2
Why does her hat remind of that Power Ranger villain Rita Repulsa?! ![]()

Because both have excellent fashion sense.

I actually like that "reimage" of Vivienne more than the original. To each their own I guess.
Viv teaching our Mages KE that would be cool i wonder what kind of teacher she would be harsh or calm lol
Super harsh. If it gets out that she taught you and you **** up it's a reflection on her, and her reflection is not allowed to be marred.
That would be fun to see ![]()

I think that is the Spirit tree
The actual tree it shows is the spirit tree, but if you look carefully at the different 'skill books' and the top of the tree, the icons do not match up.
I think you are on to something ... finally spotted it too.

Yeah the icon for the tree matches the one next to it on the right.
