@Medhia I simply dubbed those posts, "Xil-ing" in my head.

I was surprised that Vivienne was in a mistress role, but I find it rather intriguing. Marriage was, after all, created for inheritance, political connections, and procreation. Our love-centric viewpoint is the exception, not the rule in human history. I'm glad to see some parallel with real world history.

Didn't read all the spoilery details, but it sounds like the decision to not make her a LI was a carefully considered one. From what I've read so far, it actually kind of makes sense that she isn't a romance.

I still have some questions but hopefully they'll be answered when I get my hands on the game in a few days.

I read some of the spolerish comments in this thread and still think it's an error not to make her romanceble, moreover that she's unlike to return for future DA's seen her limited popoularity this far on the boards

PS: don't flame me I'm a huge Viv fan

In case you missed it!

Recruiting Vivi

And your first conversation with her

I thought her initial introduction was quite interesting, but after seeing the first conversation scene, it looks like she'll be on the opposite spectrum with my Dalish mage. I do wonder what will happen once my elven Inquisitor allies the Inquisition with the rebel mages fighting for their autonomy.

It's interesting that she was put into that role, and it kinda made me raise my eyebrow. That said, I'm hoping she didn't off the guy's wife.

This almost makes me feel like writing a fanfiction about Vivienne from her Duke's point of view, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to do him or her justice.

It remains to be seen. She doesn't seem to be ideologically devoted to the Chantry, so if the free Circle is sufficiently orderly, I doubt she'll be too enraged.

I imagine Vivienne is pragmatic, despite her ambition and loyalty. She won't betray the Inquisition so long as the Inquisitor make logical and beneficial choices.

True, we'll find out for certain in a few days. I guess I'm curious how she'll respond to a protagonist who wants the exact opposite of what she believes is right, given how she consistently condemns the mages fighting for their autonomy. Vivienne seems to be ideologically positioned as a Loyalist, and she's Fiona's counterpart among the mages who want the return of the status quo. If the Inquisitor makes it clear that he or she believes that the mages should be free from the Chantry and the templars, and addresses that this is a course of action that will be pursued by the Inquisition, will Vivienne remain with the Inquisition? Or is she more concerned with the crisis of the Breach than with the Mage-Templar War, and will therefore acquiesce to mages being independent of the Chantry system?

What she determines to be logical and beneficial is worth watching.

Is she religious enough to be a Loyalist? She seems to see the Chantry as a means to an end more than anything.

I would think that she'd prioritize the Breach, but we never really know... then again, we don't yet know which form mage victory we'll take.

a loyalist doesnt have to be religious just agreeable to the current system and sides with the chantry. Just a thought

Well, there are decisions that can make characters leave so I wouldn't be surprised if there's something along those lines that makes Vivienne leave.

Why would you assume that?

As she mentions, marriage among the nobility is a contract used to foster alliance and inheritance. She got along with the wife so no reason to assume she did anything evil towards the wife.
