Yeah I was extremely disappointed with how Vivienne was handled by the devs, especially in WE/WH. For someone Bioware touted as "The Ambition" with a "hidden agenda" that we needed to "watch out for" she does.... absolutely nothing to curry favor with.... anyone.

That's my feeling on her as well. I adore the character, but she is completly wasted in this game. I think that if her character was to get her due, either the civil war in Orlais or the mage/templar war needed to be expanded upon, to give her opportunity to actually engage in some politcking.

If the Inquisitor plays Champions of the Just, but Leliana becomes Divine, what would Vivienne do with the new power structure?

Is it possible for Leliana to become Divine with Champions of the Just?

The OCW would've been the best place to do it, that arc in-general needed more to it

Vivienne looks great with longer hair, too! Well, no surprise here, because she always looks great

Still kinda wish they gave her more hair, though I suppose the engine wouldn't be able to render something fitting of her. She still looks damn good either way, but it feels like she should have something.
...that said, if I wore hats all day long, I'd probably want to be bald too.

As for the question. If Leliana is divine all the old restrictions on mages are removed I believe, who's to say she couldn't use such an opportunity to take her current political clout and expand it ten fold? Or if that fails, simply make herself the leader of the new "college of enchanters" that will inevitably pop up (or variations of it).
"edit, ignore what I said about the points for conscription.

Definitely but I conscripted the templars.

Yes.Is it possible for Leliana to become Divine with Champions of the Just?
If you allied with them, Seekers arent rebuilt and Cullen stop talking lyrium: This allows them to leave and reform the Templar Order to truly serve the people, independent of outside control.
If the Seekers are rebuilt: is the one where they join the Seekers
If Cullen takes lyrium: Some leave, joining mercenary bands or the ranks of the Imperial army. Most remain.
Those who remain under the watchful eye of Commander Cullen become the core of the Inquisitor's personal guard.
Conscription: they all vote to stay in the Inquisition and the Templar Order is disbanded forever.

Yeah, in my headcanon Vivienne works very closely with Josephine to curry favors for the Inquisition -- I'm building off of her few quests on the war table -- but also she ends up making it a point to make herself seem the best candidate for Grand Enchanter. Which she gets when Fiona retires from the position.
Plus in WE/WH I have her using her political skillset to properly gauge the scene and get us some much needed intel, while conversing with Celene also.
I love Vivienne but Bioware just treated her like a prop IMO and she deserved better.

I think she's only wasted if she doesn't become Divine.
Which is why I prefer as Divine. At least, this is my new reasoning. I have to give Viv something to do. ![]()
OTOH, I also think she's a good sounding board for my mage... she's there to kind of swap stories and opinions about that. If you're a KE, she's also kind of a mentor. Or would like to be. Hell, I came up with a whole backstory for my mage, once she mentioned his old mentor. I was kind of struggling to find one before that.

I could say that I am getting tomorrow's DLC for the story content ... but it is mainly to get more Vivienne content! ![]()
Let's hope we get some more classic Vivienne comments/banter.
If it is post-ending DLC:
Edit: Just realised that Solas is in the DLC reveal picture so it probably won't be post-ending DLC. Thanks for pointing that out potatocat ![]()

I'm hopeful too. I don't think it'll be post-game DLC though, considering Solas can be seen in the reveal picture.

I think Vivienne is a good character, but I find myself not agreeing with her on much and it's gotten to the point where I don't even want her to join the Inquisition. I find myself having to go through hoops to keep her approval up and even then I worry about Vivienne hijacking the Divine election. I agree with a lot of the things Leliana wants to change about the Chantry but Vivienne as Divine is almost the opposite of what I want.

But the disapproval content is so good though!
And if you agree with Leliana, you probably won't get a Divine Viv, unless your choices don't reflect your beliefs. Just ally with mages, put Briala in power, and don't exile the Wardens then sit back and enjoy Vivienne at her sassiest.

The Inquisitor can't sufficiently respond to any disapproval for it to be actually "good," in my opinion.

Poster: 2) What decision making went into not making Vivienne more than a cut-out of a person? Most other companions—especially the likes of Cullen and Bull—seem to have narrative arcs that their missions tie into or at least serve to show you how a character changes, but Vivienne is kind of just. There. (Never mind the tragedy of how you cannot romance her)
Mike Laidlaw: Vivienne's role is more to act as a voice for moderate mages.

Mike Laidlaw has very odd ideas about what constitutes "moderate." Vivienne is as pro-templar as a mage can get without being all "PLEASE SMITE ME WITH YOUR ALLEGORICAL PHALLUS" like that one girl from Origins.

Vivienne is not that pro-Templar. You can get approval from her from saying "Templars are not the answer." Also, she only slightly disapproves if/when the Inquisitor disbands their order, which is less than anyone else who disapproves (like another candidate for Divine).

Don't forget that Vivienne Greatly Approves if you suggest that mages should be part of the Chantry.
