The number of pages in a thread on the bsn doesn't mean anything to be honest lol.

Morrigan only 599 pages after several years. Leliana, 390 pages. Varric is one of the most popular character, and his topic was really small. The same for Aveline. Isabela had 600 pages at least if I remember well, and she is very popular too. The same for Merril.

On the opposite : Alistair, 1500 pages, Anders, 2000 pages, Fenris, 2000 pages, the previous Cullen thread, 3500 pages at least.

If Vivienne is a romance option, I hope we have the choice to keep her hardened, instead of becoming soft and squishy!

I've been in relationships with clean cut women before, it's really no different though.

Although for once maybe Bioware can make a female with some hair. Seras ain't bad, just saying Bioware go for less instead of more most of the times

From what I've heard, it's extremely difficult to make hair look good in the Frostbite engine, which might be why everyone has little to no hair.

Just rewatched the dwarf demo. Vivienne's animations are simply superb. I know I'll be putting all my team at a disadvantage as I craft her different armours so I can change her look every five minutes so her fashions can always stay in style!

Where'd you read that?

Nothing official, just conjecture and opinion that I've overheard. In some of the images, it does seem like the hair textures are a little poor.

I'd be over-enjoyed to be proven wrong though.

I think it's all gonna look better in game, Sera's hair looked terrible in that first pic of her but it looked better in later pics and fine in the companion trailer.

While hair may not be the best in DAI hopefully it will look ok at least, I just hope there is some at least longish hair.

I bet the only reason she supports the Circle of Magi is because in the Circle she is/was the First Enchanter, otherwise she's just another Apostate.

I don't get the eye roll. That's a pretty good reason to support the Circle.

Technically being FE isn't that much relevant to her. Her major power relies in being the Orlesian court Enchanter, which she was before being a FE.

As a french, I find the nickname " Madame de Fer " really cute. Normally, it should be  " La Dame de fer "  for the Iron lady.  :P

" Madame " is equivalent to Mrs, ma'am. So in english, it should give " Iron ma'am. "

In alpha, they still got things to polish but hopefully they have some longer hair options because I know everybody wants them. Me, I don't care for them because I don't have long hair but I think people should be able to have that option.

I think that's more because "La Dame" in English consciousness would be more like saying... the woman or the girl. It's difficult, because literal translations from English to French don't work very well.

Oh, I totally agree, it's just that Madame de fer in french and for french people, it doesn't really make sense. I just thought it was funny.

Oh, it's hilarious. While not fluently bilingual, I speak enough French (and other romance languages) that I can see the poor fit.

I don't trust her.  She really seems like she has ulterior motives.  Just look at all the game play footage of her.  Even her animations and facial expressions are a clear tell that there is more to her than meets the eye, somehow.

I actually find that reassuring. Her outward persona is so self-centered and obnoxious that anything hidden has to be good. This is what any hopes of romancing her in the future, for me, are pinned on.

Hey! Some of us find that behaviour endearing.

I, so far, do not see any reason to believe her ambitions being at odds with the Inquisition, and therefore no reason to believe her to be untrustworthy.

Vivienne is one of the companions I most look forward to. I'd like to believe that her ability to survive and thrive in the viper pit that is the Orlesian Court shaped her personality and world-view more than any disagreeable elements to her character. I expect to dislike Sera much more than Vivienne on that matter.

To quote Mary Kirby from her interview on Vivienne, :-  "So she resorts to the only logical course of action for a courtier: she throws a party for them."

Vivienne appears to be a mage-politician. While that makes her powerful in many ways, it is something one who wishes to approach and communicate with her must keep in mind.

As such, I am of the opinion that one should deal with Vivienne the way they would treat a powerful politician.

When it comes to politics and politicians, I usually look to House of Cards to see how they operate and function. Vivienne, working in the Orlesian court, where the Great Game is played at the highest levels with the highest stakes, is in fact no different than an American politician in the U.S.A Congress.

Which means that I would not trust her. Not because I do not like but her nature of her work, which is a politician, automatically makes her untrustworthy.

Here is an excerpt from the World of Thedas by Leliana :- "As a bard, you are welcome anywhere in Orlais. Doors are opened to you with generous smiles, their wearers confident that no one would falsely pretend to such a title for fear of retribution. Your slightest request is immediately seen to. Your services are expensive and yet actively sought, and those who cannot afford them beg only to not have your displeasure turn their way.

One day, however, you will awaken. You will realize the smiles are false, and behind them lies revenge. At the first moment of weakness, your brother and sister bards will be unleashed upon you like a pack of hounds, and you will realize they are not your brothers and sisters at all. For all your fancy intrigue, you have spent your life creating nothing of worth. You have been swallowed by the web of your own deceits, and the Game of which you believed yourself master? It moves on without you, uncaring."

Granted, Vivienne is not a bard, she is a mage. However, from the description of the Great Game, no one in their right mind will trust the people who play it.

My Inquisitors would be like this towards Vivienne :- "So, you are an Orlesian courtier and you are a powerful mage ? Okay, good to have you with us. However, I will not completely trust you. You don't just simply trust those who play the Game, especially at your level, First Enchanter."
