It's possible...similar things have happened before.  With the race-gating, they wouldn't be available to all though.

On the one hand, it wouldn't be favoritism to straight men... but it'd hardly be good for us either.

Yeah, I still think the next three options will be males with 2 race-gated.

 

I suspect we'll just see Sera/Cass/Josephine for the ladies but with no race restrictions.

 

I could be wrong as I've been many times in the past

One issue with the rest being all males is we'd end up with 3 females (one of whom isn't even a companion) and 5 males. That's almost twice as many. Adding Vivienne to the mix would definitely balance things out a bit.

 

I'm not holding my breath at this point, though. I really expected Viv to be an option given all the fuss around her since last year's initial reveal.

This is a bit of a misconception. There is at least one character who is not a companion or an advisor whom you can flirt with. When Cameron said that there were eight romances, he was referring to eight romances within the companions and advisors.

So, rejoice or not as you see fit.

That leaves Viv, Blackwall, Solas, Bull and Varric as the remaining LIs. Since she's the last female companion it's highly likely that she'll one, though I could be wrong.

That would depend on the extent of race-gating. I wish they would clarify a bit how that works.

Just gonna leave this here to give you guys some hope

 

Wow that just...well that really grants a lot of hope. That means Vivi DEFINITELY has a chance if they want to split the LI's even if it happens to be WITHIN companions/advisors. It's more likely they'll split the gender ratio evenly. (Female- Cass, Josephine, Sera, Vivi, Male- Cullen, Dorian, Iron Bull/Solas/Blackwall/Varric).

 

If that's the case then its likely to be either Cass or Vivi that has the race-gated romance, more likely Vivi due to her status.
