Not to mention it would mean the only WOC is the only woman that's not romanceable.
Josephine is romanceable.

Well there is Josephine, but still Vivienne is way more attractive that all the other females IMO.

Okay I see. Will we hear about the last 3 LI soon?
David Hulegaard @HulegaardBooks
Not officially, but we've got a ton of devs on Twitter, so anything is possible.

Are you joking? Holy crap so I got my hopes up for nothing
Yeah, lesbian presenting her 'attributes' to a man in semi-nudity is not a titillation at all.
Considering that all the comments are about how Traynor teases Shep, apparently the target audience of that scene, straight men, consider it a titillation. There are also other YT videos of that scene, all have the same comments.
well, steve was also naked in his romance scene...same with liara, ashley and kaidan. I fail to see the difference.
Josephine is romanceable.
Isn't she Antivan, which is equivalent of Spaniard? If so, then she's actually white, just has darker skin tone (in real world, some Spanish people have blood of Moors, which meant mainly Arabs - who are white too anyway).

Yes, she's Antivan. However, that says nothing about her ancestry. Vivienne is from the Free Marches, but is of Rivaini ancestry.

She is darker than Isabela, lighter than Vivienne. Around the skin color of Maya Brooks in ME3: Citadel according to Patrick Weekes.
Also, Dorian is Tevinter which is like Roman but the closest Earth ethnicity analogue is Indian. Just because a nation is based off a nation on Earth doesn't mean all the people are.

Was it a romance scene, of the lesbian with a man?
Seriously, how can you defend this: http://youtu.be/maBK0sTa-0k?t=1m8s

Not Spaniard but Italian. Rivain is influenced by Spain invaded by the Moors(weren't most of them North African Muslims?) and Josephine is of color, she's not white.

okay, didn't watch that video, just the romanced version. They could have done better, but still, I don't think Samantha is only developed to titillate straight men. Otherwise they could have created her being straight.

Are you from America? Because I've read quite a lot how skin tone is an issue there. Lots of Hispanic people are actually white, it's not a race, but is treated as such there. And IIRC the biggest race-related lynch in USA history was on Italian people - because they weren't considered "truly" white.
Then again, the term "people of color" is apparently used mainly in America (at least according to Wiki), and if Spaniard wouldn't be considered as 'white' there, then I suppose it is applicable to call Josephine WOC.

What does being from America or not have anything to do with me telling you what Bioware devs said? The first part was from Patrick, the second from Gaider.
I wasn't doubting a lot straight males would've found it titillating. Howewer, we're don't have an hive mind, so I can very well not find it titillating but moronic. If I'd watch it for the first time, my first reaction (considering the character involved) would've been 'wtfYeah, lesbian presenting her 'attributes' to a man in semi-nudity is not a titillation at all.

And that's the romanced version:
So it's actually much shorter, gives less insight to Sam's character, and also, is much more tame than the scene of lesbian with a man.

From what I've read, most Moors in Spain were Arabs and Berbers.
BTW, Zevran has dark skin tone too. Maybe he died his hair.
And isn't Rivain more like India, at least when it comes to its inhabitants?

First one was just on skin tone. Second one, that Dorian's ethnicity is similar to that of people from India.

And?
And?
We should define first what we understand as "WOC". If it's about every non-light skin tone, then she is one. If it's about being non-Caucasian, then it's arguable.
BTW, I remember seeing some praises for the fact that Vivienne is the first character who doesn't have 'white' facial features, like Duncan and Isabela had (and notions that if just the skin tone was changed, they would still look 'accurate' - leading to some questions about the 'standards' of beauty).

No need. Bioware has said Josephine is a PoC. Case closed.
