No, Riviain is based off of Spain culturally but ethnically, you will see a lot people like Vivienne, black. Also, Isabella is black and she is from Rivain. Duncan is half Rivaini so he's half black.

Nope, Isabela and Duncan look more like people from India. And if those characters were 'whitewashed', as there are many such mods just changing skin tone, then they would look completely OK with their features as white.

Duncan always struck me as having a more Mediterranean look rather than an Indian one, and Isabella as being a mix of eastern African and Mediterranean when it came to appearance.

Isabella is black but with white facial features? Yes but only because the Eclipse engine couldn't make her look black.

If she's racegated, it means she's a far weaker person than I'd hoped.
Wtf did I just read about black and white? First skin tones have a spectrum, there is no just thing as white and black in a sense of extremes. Vivienne clearly has a more darker tone than Isabela but both in real life could be "latinas"(which is a definition I hate to use for a lot of reasons). To me Antiva is more close to some parts of Spain, like the north and Rivani is more close to south of Portugal, Algarve and Granada from Spain, which are the places that Moors influence the most.
Also Zevran being blond and dark skinned is not news in the south of Europe, nor it is, in other parts of the world.

It's a complicated discussion and you should be careful not to offend others (ofc it's not always easy). There are no black or white facial features, you could say someone has more western looking features or more African looking features in a general sort of way but those two area's do have a wide verity of features.
Vivienne is on the dark side and she has more African features (cheekbones, jaw line, lips) but a woman who didn't have those is not less black because of that and how dark or light a person is doesn't make them more or less black either. Black is more of a cultural identity than a classification.
There is some prejudice both outside and inside of black communities against darker women so it's nice if they are represented. Whether or not Vivienne is romanceable doesn't make a massive difference to that though (in my opinion). I guess you could say that it shows bioware see her as an attractive desirable person but I already know they wouldn't leave her out for being (too dark) so it matters not, to me.

I doubt Blackwall will be, Solas would make more sense or even Varric. Also I would be happy with Vivienne being a romance but ****** at the same time. They should have done more female companions, this **** could had been avoided.
