I believe that Sten says qunari don't dream as humans and elves do. It could mean they have a separate process.

We already have an example of mages who don't draw from the Fade - the darkspawn spell casters - so perhaps qunari mages also draw from a separate realm.

I wonder why everyone thinks the last two unconfirmed romance will be race-gated. They said the reasons are for the story, and might not want to reveal that yet. We might already met the race gated romance! So, here hoping she isn't the race gated one!

I think it could one of the gender-gated romance, atleast one of them

And there is some evidence to suggest they're right. They hardly ever see qunari in the Fade, for instance as I read on the wiki. But, some might just argue it's Qun propaganda. And obviously demonic possession is still a worry because Saarebas exist. So it's all a bit murky and ambiguous.

Given that both the known bi romances are open to everyone, I'm beginning to suspect the last two will be the race-gated ones.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing, like it could be Varric and Vivienne.

Varric no humans because at some point in DA2 he said that he didn't prefer them, and maybe no Qunari because of what he experienced at Kirkwall (pure speculation).

Vivienne no elves because apparently the Orlesians are too uppity :| and no dwarves? (idk still)

 

That would sort of make sense because Elves and Dwarves get Varric - Humans and Qunari get Vivienne. (still dunno)

 

Unless Bioware goes full on potato, then I have no idea

I recently had a thought. You guys know how in TME [spoilers] the main problem society had with Celene and Briala's relationship was because Briala was an elf? And Celene had to kill a whole bunch of elves just to prove that, "Hey guys, I totally want to oppress elves as much as the rest of you!" [/spoilers]

 

Well, Viv obviously worked hard to get to her position. Maybe she's not willing to throw that all away by falling for an elf, even such a powerful elf. Qunari and dwarves aren't ideal, but they lack the same stigma in many respects. But an elf... Well, maybe that's her race-gate.

Indeed, for all we know, one of the already gender gated romances are also race gated. I think it's unlikely, as they ought to have confirmed it beforehand, but it was never confirmed either way.

We have know idea who it will be at the moment.

No 2 are race gated but we don't know which two. 6 li's have been confirmed but only Josaphine and IB have been confirmed as not race gated.

Difficult question. I was so sure it'd be Iron Bull. Hopefully they haven't made Cullen unavailable to dwarfs to give straight female dwarfs Varric as an additional romance. I want the remaining romances bisexual.

So, odd question and I don't feel like digging through her thread to find the answer:  Do we know her last name?  I can't seem to find it anywhere.  And that makes me wonder why?  Is it because she's from a common background and "worked her way up"?  I would think that a woman like Vivienne would flaunt her heritage if it were noble or aristocratic.

We don't know her last name. She from the Free Marches, and Mary said that we'd learn more about her background when we played. I think her last name is a ~secret to everyone~.

Mary Kirby said she doesn't have a last name. And if she does, she will never admit to it. And it matters not to be honest. Circle mages lose all claim to their name.

I don't think her heritage is noble or aristocratic. It seems fairly likely that she doesn't know her parents with the circle system.
