In Vivenne's defense that is some uglyass plating :P

My god, it's like something out of one of those gross 50s cookbooks. I wouldn't eat it either, tbh. What did she do, request roast nug with creme fraiche or something french like that, and get a miniaturized above-ground pool?

A response fanfic to this comic. In no way is it a negative commentary on the comic or its interpretation of Vivienne as a character. It's just a story I had to get out of my head at 3am in the morning. Hope my fellow Viv fans enjoy it!

omg i love you

This is now my favourite DA fanfic ever. I mean, it's amazing. Bless you :)

You know... The more I see and read about Le Madame, I'm still not sure how I'd feel if she was romanceable, but I know I'd make an effort to keep her by my right hand. You always need that friend who says the things you can't or won't and has the "stones" to back them up. Leaders live in a guilded cage and don't always have the liberty to say (or do) what's in their mind. Thus far, this is how I see her and Josephine. Of course, Josephine is a whole other deal.  ^_^

You hate her based on fan speculation?

This is like the dude who decided he'd romance Josephine because someone wrote a dialogue where Cassandra had a lot of pubic hair. There's no evidence that Vivienne goes around making servants cry.

M'Lady... After perusing many of your comments, it's official... "I like the way you think." :D *hahaha!*

It's sad that the Vivienne thread is not getting much love here! She sounds awesome judging from what we know of her.

*Singing* "Cause's she's hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh above men she's so lovely! She's so hiiiiiiiiiiiigh, like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc or Aphrodite!!!!"

Gonna certainty be singing this tune if it turns out she isn't a romance option and its looking all the more likely as of late. :(

Of course she will be LI. Do you see any other notyetLIannounced female companion in the team? No. Do you think Bioware won't give us the fair 4 f / 4 m LIs? Unlikely
So don't worry. Vivienne will 99% be romancable

Last night, I realised that if Vivienne, (or Varric, I suppose), and Blackwall are romanceable, every writer is writing at least one LI. It was also pointed out to me that Cassandra was originally Jennifer Hepler's too.

I personally can't stand to read pre-release fannon party banters- if I see it, I move on. The only person I give a pass to is Aimo, and even then with a good deal of salt.

I remember, it was my banter. The Inquisitor was threatening to wax Varric's chest hair (friend fiction was the offense) and Cassandra was confused by what it meant to 'wax'. This guy somehow interpreted that to mean that Cassie was going natural. That's just silly. Obviously she'd use a razor.

On topic, some promotional pictures of Vivienne show her bald. Do you think it's fashion or pragmatism?

To be honest, I don't think that shaving that area is fashionable in Thedas. So if that's a dealbreaker, you may want to go for an elf.

Somehow I don't think the Devs went so far as to include cultural standards of beauty into the game or hair removal techniques through the nations. This reminds me of the Jaheira romance from Baldur's Gate 2. People didn't want to romance her because they thought that as a druid she would have hairy armpits and legs.

There are times it's good to remember it's just a video game. Real life standards need not apply.

In-universe consistency matters to me. I try to make realistic assessments of standards of beauty and the like when possible.

I'm unsure what you're arguing.

You've stated that you think Cassandra shaves her public hairs. We don't know anything about Thedas that would suggest that's true. If we bring Cassandra into a contemporary context, that still seems unlikely.

Someone is saying that they disagree with your assessment. Can you provide your reasoning? Because Jaheira and 'it's just a video game' doesn't do so.

Since Jaheira is a half-elf, I don't think there'd be much hair to shave anyway.

I assume that half-elves had leg and armpit hair. The cultural standard is 'none' for those areas, so her having a little would still put people off.

Well, elves canonically have no body hair at all, or at least none of any note. Half-elves have... some, but I imagine it'd be on the thin/sparse side.

A mix of both, is my theory.  Many in ye olden times would shave their heads in order to better wear fancy wigs.  I bet she gets those hats specially fitted to her head.
