True but we don't know if any of them will be KE. It could be a placeholder spec for the Demo.

I am pretty damn sure Dorian is a necromancer but I think at least some of the companions will have other specs. One of the devs said you don't learn your spec from companions. So there is no need to have them all with those specs.

Viv is the most likely KE but she might not be one.

I agree with Dorian being a necromancer. But its just my bet that solas is a rift mage and viv is a ke.

I think you're right.  The KE description specifically mentions the Circle.  It would have to be Viv.

If Dorian is a necromancer, that would mean that all the companions have normal, player specs.  So that would mean Solas is a Rift Mage and Viv is a KE.  I guess I just wasn't convinced of that premise... if it's true, however, then she's almost certainly a KE, no matter how she dresses.

Wait, so it's confirmed that they don't have special specs, or is that just the current assumption?

No it wouldn't, I think some of them will maybe even most of them. Like in DA2, Bethany and Carver had Force Mage and Templar, Isabela had a slightly different version of duelist. Anders Had Spirit healer in his spec and Merril had some blood mage abilities.

So it could be more like this in DA:I.

[sigh]  Yeah, that's true... oh well.  It's kind of hard not to jump to conclusions at this point... maybe they'll release some new info in a couple weeks or so.

I think there is good evidence that Viv is a KE and if anyone is it's her. If rift mage is about the fade then Solas has to be one right? unless he has some dreamer spec but I assume that would be at least similar.

I just think Cassandra, Sera and Varric sound like characters that may not have any of them seeing as they don't so easily fit any of the specs. I guess Cass could be Champion but that sounds more Blackwall to me.

I used to be pretty sure that the companion specs were just the nine we could have coz they are all possible fits. It also made sense because it brings back unlocks and gives a reason for you to have the spec but then they said you don't learn your specs from your companions. That means there is no need for them to have them but it doesn't mean they wont and it's pretty clear that at least some of them do.

In short, we don't really know. There is meant to be some reveal about all this that is part of the marketing scheduled, I dunno when that is meant to be though.

I am unsure on cass and blackwall cause champion sounds better with cass with her being a default sword and shield. I have a feeling blackwall is a ex templar that joined the wardens so i think he has the templar spec. As for varric he might have the same marksmen spec again but he could be a  artificer.

I could see Blackwall as a Templar, but that's because I know nothing about him.  Varric could be an "Artificer," because Bianca is a high tech crossbow and he doesn't strike me as either an assassin or tempest (whatever that is).  But again, it's all speculation...  whatever her spec is, I hope Vivienne ends up with something fun and useful.  That's about it.

I would hate that tbh, it would be the third time we get a Grey Warden with a Templar spec

During the Raptr Q&A someone asked about the companion specs being unique. I recall the answer mentioning that the companion specs would match their unique story. So there is a reason for them outside of teaching them to the Inquisitor.

I think companions all have their own specs.

Not sure where I read that but I recall it came up.

It would be pretty unoriginal, but can you imagine Iron Bull as one?

I meant, no need for them to have the specs available to the Inquisitor if you don't unlock them by learning them from companions like you did in Origins.

We know Dorian can do some sort of necromantic magic. It may not be exactly the same as the Inquisitors version but I think Necromancer is his spec.

I can't imagine any of the warrior companions as one

That's I have a problem with all of our companions potentially having the 9 specs on them

Finally heard Vivienne's voice. I don't think I recognize the VA, but she sounds lovely. She doesn't have an Orlesian accent from what I gather; perhaps it has something to do with her upbringing in the Free Marches.

I think Cassandra would be the Templar, considering she was part of the Chantry.

I believe you're right, since I think that the developers recently said that the companions would get their own unique specializations.

No, Artificer Dagna probably teaches that spec. I think Viv has some variation of Knight Enchanter. Sera as a variation of Tempest, Cole as a special kind of Assassin.

Well I was going to edit in a line about how Artificer might be a dwarven thing based on Dagna, but I decided it didn't really matter...  If you agree that Cole is the Assassin and Sera is the Tempest, why wouldn't that make Varric an Artificer by default?  Or would he have a totally unique spec?

Makes sense to me, but I've heard it disputed elsewhere.  Also, "Champion" seems to fit her... I dunno really.

No clue. I think he'll probably have a more weapon neutral Bianca like spec, since we now have the option to give him daggers.

Tbh I don't know what an Artificer does, exactly... I figured it was a tinkerer who might deal with bombs and traps... and maybe high tech crossbows?

Perhaps. Did you see the rogue harpoony thing from one of the trailers? I think that might have been an Artificer invention/talent.

I was thinking Vivienne was an Knight Enchanter, but all we see her do is casting fire or ice magic.
